I always got the impression odd-order harmonics were considered more troublesome. Not that I claim to have any kind of knowledge here, just a passing interest I've picked up from seeing adjectives such as "benign" applied to second order harmonic distortion in audio equipment. Or does this not apply...

If you can educate enough people that, in spite of their perceived differences, people are very much the same the world over Reminds me of Richard Pryor's skit about flying to Africa: "Don't matter the colour of your skin, if you're black, white, whatever... people are exactly the same the world ov...

+1 for downloadhelper. interface could be better but it gets the job done. FYI the conversion add-on for the add-on puts a watermark on the converted videos.

other than that, or if you don't want to install anything then clipnabber.com works along same lines as keepvid.com

I'm not actually listening to it yet, but Depeche Mode's new album just arrived in my grubby paws and I can't wait to get home. The fact that I'm planning to knock off early to go home and listen to an almost thirty year old band's new record says a lot about my opinion of current pop "artists". Gru...

Too true. The "church" of Scientology comes in for a bit of flak* for being an insidious cult that abuses its victims and takes their money, yet isn't that just what the Catholic church has been doing for centuries?

Re: DIAMOND-based heat transfer compound

DIAMOND-based heat transfer compound I read somewhere recently ( link ) that Fraunhofer have been touting diamond as a possible TIM component, but then they've been hawking diamond everything these last few months, right down to ball bearings, presumably in an attempt to secure further research cas...

I've always found eBuyer to be quite fickle and on again/off again in its stocking of specific brands. I'm betting its down to what quantities of stock they are able to hoover up cheap off the market. For example a few years ago they would frequently have no Abit boards for months and then a massive...

Bit tech slated it in their preview after building a system. Seems like it will be truly impossible to get a neat or satisfying build.

If your PC is "off" because you shut it down, and it is still connected to the mains then there is still Voltage available to the motherboard (often this can be seen in the tiny lights indicating the supply is present). This allows the kind of power control circuitry used by PCs, where the PSU is "j...

Ok, so conspiracy or not the results aren't in question, but would you not agree that the caricature of the conspiracy nut does little to help the cause of people who would fight for change? A lot of the "conspirators'" ability to brush off claims of wrongdoing comes from their facility to rationali...
