Whoever took those pictures should sell his camera. Seriously. And never take another picture in his life.

Are those 140mm fans? Looks like it hangs over the northbridge heatsink but so does my Zerotherm BTF-90.

You have 3 fans, two exhaust and two intake? Interesting.... I have one intake that's on full speed 1200 RPM all the time. It's at the very bottom infront of the harddrives and the case is on the floor so it's not that annoying. Then I have one exhaust at the back in the typical spot. That one is vo...

Nice PSU. Though the only reason to get it over the 430 would be if you're going to throw an HD 5970 and an overclocked i7 at it. Well that would be a reason.

I looked at their site. They have the Nexus Value 430 available. It would be an obvious choice for your system. It doesn't have modular cables though. If you insist on modular, the Seasonic is a bit more expensive and not as quiet but it would still be my choice in that price range of <75 euros.

In your case, the fan in the 650 probably won't start before 300W. You should look at the out of hot box open air results instead of torture chamber results which isn't the scenario in P182. I'm not even sure 750 would stay fanless longer, I doubt it.

Suggestion/request regarding GPU reviews

Hello, As of now, you GPU reviews are more about power usage (you actually show a comparison chart) than noise so I thought of something today that you guys could probably implement in your future GPU reviews and it has to do with noise and temps. Currently you only state the idle, which is fine, an...

Evident from this thread is that there's a certain amount of sample variance when it comes to buzzing and/or whining. The 170W and 180W figures might as well be TDP. It's kinda hard to accept that a 40nm chip, even a powerful one, would draw way more power than its 55nm counterparts. So they should just concentrate on reducing power consumption? I think AMD and Nvidia have quite a different view on it. Die shrink ...

It's not like turbo increases power usage too much since it doesn't increase voltage. The multiplier is locked on the current Lynnfield CPUs so turbo mode can only work by increasing the cpu base frequency which you could call clock speed. You may not agree but by any definition that is overclockin...

I have to disagree about Turbo being overclocking. It the future of CPUs. You have to abandon the thought of 'quadcore' and 'dualcore' concept. They are merely resources. You could turn the tables around with these things. They are fast dual-core chips that can act as a slower quad-core when the app...

A dream unit for any single GPU gaming rig. You can pretty much have you SATA DVD on one cable and an SSD on the other connector on that cable lying around wherever. Then have two 2TB sata drives on the other cable. I think that's probably enough for most users' storage needs.

The problem is that while the Ion’s hardware decode engine can handle the video decode just fine, there’s a lot the CPU still has to do. When playing a standard Blu-ray disc there’s a lot of decryption that the CPU must do in addition to simply streaming the data to the GPU. On a modern day p...
