Re: Gigabyte H55N-USB3: The De Facto LGA1156 Mini-ITX Board?

So... does the Thermalright AXP-140 work on this mobo? Does any flat top heatsink fit without blocking the PCI Express slot?

Re: AMD fan control at Techreport

AMD Overdrive already has a fan control tab but it's not implemented (by the mobo?)

Also DDR3 memory is supposed to have a temp sensor, could it be the un-implemented Temp3 = -127 in asus mobos?

Some of these fans can be re-lubricated with a single drop of oil and make them quiet again. Did you try that with the original fan? Replacing the fan was just unplugging the old and plugging in a new one? Or did you have to re-solder connections? Did you take any photos? Yes, I tried oiling the fa...

Seasonic X-650 and X-750 superseded ?

Why are the Seasonic X-650 & X-750 superseded? Is there a flaw in their design? It seems suspicious when a brand new model is withdrawn.

The Seasonic X-series don't create their own air flow since they have no fan or a fan that rarely spins. So a case with negative pressure could cause heat from PSU to back INTO the case. I posted that here http://www.silentpcreview.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=54023 That's not necessarily a bad thing,...

Cases in this form factor always look like microwave ovens, eventually somebody will try to stick a cup of coffee in it. I bet this one sounds more like a vacuum cleaner sucking dust & dirt from the bottom vents and blowing it out the back.

Nice, I love the cpu LED bling on these mobos. I used my A05N as a tech station for months, no panels on top, front or sides. I recently added the panels, tried airflow back-to-front (stock) & front-to-back, both work but front-to-back works better. I'm using a Seasonic M12, but it seems noisy in th...

Measuring performance in °C Rise/dBA favors larger & heavier heatsinks. But if you evaluate performance by weight & volume, °C Rise/weight*volume or °C Rise/$cost, then the AMD cooler is the record-holder. Here is a review, the AMD cooler is an AVC Z7U7414001 http://www.frostytech.com/articleview...

70 to 120mm funnel adapter works, if you can re-use the stock fan mounting screws. Gets in the way of the toggle clamp, so it must be mounted after the heatsink.

Can the Noctua NH-D14 be mounted both north/south and east/west on AM3?

BTW Prolimatech Megahalems does work with AMD, just needs a separate adapter, the best mounting setup I've ever used.

from source.

how do you know your cpu temp without it?
Windows utilities like coretemp and speedfan work ok. I'll have to check for new K10 cpu temp driver in ubuntu.
