Need some help new fans for new build.

Hey, Currently building this new PC, I5 4690 , 16GB Ram, MSI GTX970 , Superflower 550w golden king, Asus Hero VII and noctua U12S cooler. Using the fractal, I basicly searching for really good fans and leaning towards noctua but not sure what setup to use so I dont really hear my system much in idle...

Looking for quiet ATI card (asus gtx 670 noise lvl)

Hello,

For gaming reasons I want to switch to ATI, I am tired of Nvidia bullcrap drivers.

I am looking for an equal performance card like the GTX670/660Ti, but with the same noise lvls. I am really happy with the noise lvls of my Asus GTX670.

Is there anyone who can recommend me one?

Re: GTX670 very weird noise problem

I don't wanna use frame limiter in CS GO. I am starting to think its cs go + nvidia drivers causing this. In league of legends I don't have any problems even at 400/500FPS. Furmark does not give this problem either. I need to find a driver that does not use this "prefered refreshrate" thingy, dno wh...

Re: GTX670 very weird noise problem

I seem to have found the problem but not what is causing it. Using the GTX 660TI now, as soon as I start playing CS GO the GPU gets a full load... its like its going in overclock mode or something. The fans start gong to 3K RPM in like 10seconds. At 10seconds into the game it has like 350TDP... Some...

Re: GTX670 very weird noise problem

Thanks for the brainstorming, I will do some more test. But I am almost sure it has something to do with the latest nvidia drivers. Got a Asus GTX660TI home from work to do some quick tests on aswell. The persuit of a silent gaming machine is like a drug :( Gonna up some pics this week of the rig al...

Re: GTX670 very weird noise problem

Yea I tried DP & hdmi aswell. When I limit frames to 100 the noise pretty much goes away aswell.

Or if I remove the DVI cable it is gone aswell (even if the monitor is not powered on I need to remove dvi cable for this sound to be gone).

This is only in games btw.

GTX670 very weird noise problem

Hei So my new mATX build is rdy but I ran into the weirdest problem ever, when I for example play CS GO I get a high hiss static sound from the VGA card (its not coil whine I think). Now here is the weird part, if I remove the DVI cable the problem is gone (yes I tried other cables). Lets say I remo...

If you can get your hands on a Superflower/Kingwin Golden king 550w platinum I recommend you to get one.

Re: Got the seasonic SS-660XP

I have 3 superflower golden king 550w, non of them make coil whine/buzzing. I have mounted about 20+ seasonics (old and new models), I had one that actually made a little buzzing only. All of the rest made buzzing that is annoying. For anyone looking for a PSU not making a buzzing noise, buy a 550w ...

Re: Got the seasonic SS-660XP

Yep but thats not the only problem, basicly if you have a squealing PSU it most of the time makes your GPU squeal aswell. My Seasonic does that when playing a game. Its not high pitched its more just a static electrical sound, wooshie sound its weird to discribe. Its really hard to find a PSU that d...

Re: Got the seasonic SS-660XP

Under idle/low loads the Seasonic only emits a little buzz indeed. But in games that can handle high fps it will make your GPU squeal like mad. I bought another superflower and for people wanting one, they have changed there golden king 550w. It now comes with a red button to switch for normal or hy...

Re: Got the seasonic SS-660XP

The PSU is not defective, it is really hard to find a Seasonic model that does not have coil whine. And all the bs about its a combo and some mobo/gpu effecting it is pure bs.

If you don't want coil whine get a superflower.

Re: Got the seasonic SS-660XP

Update: When it gets a little bit load it starts to even sqeel more, worst PSU ever. The fan doesnt come on that much though, but damn this noise from electronics is just to much. The only PSU for a silent rig I can recommend so far is by far the Superflower Golden King 550w platinum, it did not hav...

Re: Got the seasonic SS-660XP

Small update: The PSU makes a little squealing noise if you listen up close. Its a diffrent sound connected to the mobo (asus gene V), then when you would just jumpwire it on (makes a diff sound, like buzzing). I will have to test at the evening/night with panels closed to see if this is a keeper or...

I just got the 660XP deliverd, I havent mounted it yet into my PC but already started it up once. Re: New 2013 build - I need advice on multiple parts.

Actually I think the mini with my components will be quiter then the R4 or 550D. Some months ago I assembled a similair system in a 550D for a friend and while the system was really quite it had this "holo sound" to it. I never had that in my antec solo. Anyway I will let you know how it goes, I am ...

Re: New 2013 build - I need advice on multiple parts.

I have been in the same boat, in the end I opted for the mATX build with fractal define mini & Asus Gene V. Going to assemble it this weekend, will keep you updated if you want :) But I also saw you want to overclock, I don't know if its that smart to put it into a mini or even an R4. For a mild OC ...

Re: Quiet gaming mATX - First build ever, advice needed

Since it happened to me, I might add that you may be up for a bad surprise with the Asus GTX 670. I'll never know for sure if I got a bad sample or if Asus changed something in their cards recently, but the one I got was disappointing to say the least. That being said, I would be happy that you get...

The budget does not mather, I just want a quiet one.

What about the Seasonic Platinum Series Fanless 520 W ? Would it heat up to much in the Fractal mini with my components?

Else I might wait for the new Seasonic platinum ones that are not totally fanless

Re: PSU for my silent gaming build.

So many choises don't know what to go for :( I just assembled everything in the Fractal mini. So far I5 3570, asus Gene V, 2x8GB Corsair dominator, Asus GTX 670 instead of 660, Fractal Mini, Noctua U12P-SE2. So I need a really quiet PSU and some decent fans, intake/exhaust & PWM scythe for the noctua.
