OK, so Quiet Drive can be a solution for idle noise. If temperatures will be a problem I can put slow fan to pull hot air around it.

@CyberDog: Have you got any photos in general gallery, how much space does it take? I maybe will put it there (on some foam or silicone feet)

WD6400AAKS + scythe quiet drive temperatures

My project was to have at least 2tb of storage in my system. First i thought that lower chamber in p182 will not hold vibration of 3 hard drives (WD6400AAKS + 2x WD10EADS), but i was very surprised when I installed them, no vibration at all (believe me, I tested case with only 1TB HDD and no change ...

Re: P182 versus Sonata impressions

Would it be much quieter if I moved the top fan to the rear? It probably cools a touch better being on the top of the case but I don't need max cooling as the system is no monster. ,, I tried both optios and rear fan is better option, much quieter with any fan, I tried antec tricool and slip stream...

Now the foam is blocking pitching noise produce by the hard drives (very little but still), so I guess it will work ok?

Acrylic glass instead of foam in p182 on top fan hole

Hi! After I bought HR-01+ I used package foam for covering the top fan grill, and I was surprised by noise improvement (not just because new heatsink but that foam actually helps). I also found out the look through the top grills very sexy, it reveals total view of heatsink and it's glory :D What ar...

Well, it's a good solution :D I never thought like that :D Oh, another question: with duct between heatsink and exhaust fan affect temperatures in case, because (except pci holes) is only way for air getting out from the case, and if it's going trough heatsink temperatures must be higher (lower exha...

Update: when I replaced rear fan with 500rpm my motherboard temparature (chipset) raised one degree (now 31) and gpu temperature raised for three (now 53). I'm preety happy with resoult, overall acoustic is way better... Looks like I came to the end of silencing pc, maby 45nm CPU Would let me drop c...

I think we had misunderstood. I have two 800rpm fans and one 500rpm. Sure 500 rpm is much quieter, nothing wrong with fans. Only problem is that 800rpm is too loud when placed as exhaust fan. I guess you're right, that's best I can get for silence... Edit: Now I putted 500rpm as exhaust and 800rpm o...

I'm preety happy with my 800rpm od hdd cage, cools my passive graphics (7600 gt) and lowers cpu temperature for over 5 degrees. Main problem is that I don't want to have 800rpm as exhaust fan, bacause it's too loud. So, will 500rpm exhause enaugh air? Oh yea: I have pentium d 830 3.0 @ 3.825, 1.33V....

heatsink 800rpm & exhaust 500 or heatink 800 & exhau

I bought heatsink (hr-01 plus), system sits in p182. My biggest noise source are two HDD's and rear exhaust slip stream 800rpm (fan grill cutted, but still audiable, second 800rpm slip stream in mounted on upper hdd cage and is inaudiable). On hr-01+ I have slip stream 500rpm. And I wonder, what wou...

After reading both reviews (again) I realized that there aren't no differences between these two heatsinks at 800rpm (spcr recomended fans), HR-01+ is better only with 500-600rpm fans.

Am I maby wrong? :D

I steel feel bad because I have feeling that hr-01+ is so much better, in spcr tests is much better than S1283 on low airflow. Is slip stream 800rpm airflow really "low", or it compares with nexus on 7-9V ?

Thank you for your help! The S1283 performs better on dual core processors, so in my opinion it would be better for your purposes. The Slipstream will provide ample pressure either way. I am planning to buy some intel q9xxx series in future (maby 6 months), what would be the best future proof heatsi...

Xigmatek HDT-S1283 or Xigmatek S1284 "Achilles"

Hi! Unfortunately in our country (Slovenia) HR-01 + is not available, so I am looking at those two heatsinks. I'll put Scythe slipstream 800rpm on heatsink (so included fan is not important). I wonder which would perform better with such low airflow (p182, two slipstream 800rpm as case fans)? By the...

ati hd 4850 in p182

Hi! I have one simple question: is it possible to fit hd4850 into antec p182 WITH upper hdd chamber mounted (with fan)? I will use it with acc. s1 (passive), so i want front fan as close as it could be to the cooler (i don't want to mount it in the front because of turbolence sound). Even if it isn'...
