Is it possible to not use the plastic drive rails to mount the drives in this case?
They look like they could be the culprits.

There are rubber soft mount solutions out there, similar to lian li's stuff, these at least "dull" seek noise and are cheap.

Yeah you might be right on the Zipang, the mini ninja from scythe draws air horizontally and it seems to fit in alot of tight spaces

If you are worried about weight then the Fortress 2 wont solve that, its made of steel. Fortress 1 is all aluminium but also has the 180mm fans. I've never built a Lian Li PC but in the flesh they are very impressive cases in terms of quality. +1 Lian Li PC-B25F you also might want to have a look at...

Hi there,

You could look at the Silverstone FT02 or a Lian Li case, maybe the Lian Li PC-B10?

Something like these would look classy for living room use, they ARE more expensive cases however.

In my p180 I don't run a fan in the bottom chamber with 2 x 3.5 inch drives, considering your SSD (luckeee!) wont be generating any heat you wont need a fan.

Not sure about your question on which fans to use, follow your heart... that's what I do :)

I went with the i860 over the i750 (bought the latter then returned it before building) for hyperthreading, as I'll also use this system for video ripping and encoding.[/quote]

Ah yes did some reading, didn't realise i860 had hyperthread and i750 didn't! good to know!

Hi There, Im an Aussie too who does the home studio thing too. I have built systems in both the p180 and the solo. My current DAW sys uses the p180. In my experience the Solo would've been better for my needs. Solo is Smaller, lighter, HDD suspension, simpler, cheaper, and less fragile (p180 plastic...

cable man holes and single or dual 120mm front fan mounts.

+1 for usb3!

Wonder if they could do a bottom psu mount with the vent on the bottom seeing as most PSU's now have the 120mm fan config.

Anybody got any links on this one yet?

Looks Great! Love the layout! By the looks of it you could remove the bottom HDD rack and install a (fairly) long Gfx card! Noice! very well thought out. Now if they can only follow this up with a ATX version w bottom mounted psu dual 120 intakes / 120 exhaust...BOOYEAH!

+1 to that, Zalman had their heyday...there are better brands, even a xigmatek s1283 or something similar where you can put your own fan on it would be a better pick IMO, that way you have more options :)

Hi Steppin If you can find a Fractal..get one you can be our guinea pig :) I got a Antec P180, its great for low noise, but its got alot of plastic bits that break easily, and its insanely heavy. Personally, id go with PC-B10. Its hard to beat LianLi in looks, very little flaky plasitc bits. It will...

It looks cheap, tacky, and lolworthy IMO. My first inital reaction was: *INSERT TRANSFORMERS TRANSFORM SOUND HERE* and then "Autobots, ROLL OUT!" and then "Oh dear, i think they're serious" I would have thought Antec would have satsified the gamer market with the 1200, 902, 300 (fine cases) and 200,...

People are making way too big of a deal out of this. As long as they continue to make more plain and low-noise cases for us, I don't really care what they decide to market to overclockers and gamers. Besides revising the p180 series a few times Antec hasn't really released any midi low noise cases ...

Like i have mentioned in another post... To me these cases look like rehashes (aka Coolermaster elites 330, 311 etc etc) of the three hundred with revised front bezels (and perhaps PSU layout), they even use the same front i/o layout and buttons. They seem to offer no real benefits over the three hu...

I hate the side vents that are still on far too many cases. The Antec 300 is a nice case except for it having the side vent. Sure it can be covered but that's ugly. If it helps, you can swap the side panels over if that puts the grill outta line of sight. Also helps with keeping the dust out for pe...
