Some un-noticed cooler master HSFs

In my search for a good xeon HSF I found these on the orbitmicro website. Products that looks quite good for silence PC's. Here is what looks like a heatpipe tower that will fit in a standard 478 frame. There are even a few full copper/passive ones on obitmicro's website. Has ANYONE got their hands ...

Questions about dual xeons

Just picked up a dual xeon, The stock wind tunnels are freakishly loud.
2.8 512cache 533 bus

Should I just replace the fans with some panaflos?
What would be a safe max load temp?
Best availiable HSF for these babies?

TIA

Your case temps are great! That higher than ambient reading probably just because the sensor is close to the CPU socket.

I imagine that the gel-packs will be very good at absorbing heat, but not very good at releasing it. How long have you run this for??

It is just avail in australia. At $130 (us$91) is a wallet killer as well.

Was very keen on it until I saw the price.

It may be "offline seek noise"

it looks like some seagates initiate a self-test every 40 seconds !!! when idle.

Your not going to fall asleep with a Vantec AeroFlow.

Try a spire whisper rock or if you have the cash, the best is a thermalright heatsink with a panaflo fan.

I had an SLK-800 with a High-speed panaflo @ 5v. Giving a total 16db on a barton @ 3300mhz

Most probably not.
The 5200 most probably will suit you just fine.
I'm just concerned about picture quality, refresh rates of entry level cards.

VGA Gigabyte , GV-N52128D, FX5200, dual monitor, DVI & D-SUB, TV-OUT, 128 MB

Thats a rather low end card.

Look at a raedon 9600xt or for a few bucks more a 9800 pro. Pair with a Arctic Cooling VGA Silencer.

Need a power supply as well. Look at recommended component list.

Definitely go with a 400w PSU, a 300w PSU will have to work harder, meaning more heat/noise.

I think unless you are overclocking the ram, heat from them will be negligible.

Woo hoo!
Excellent, much cheaper than a EE.
I wonder if it's just a matter of bios support for the 865/875 boards to support it. I guess than we just need a 'shim' to protect the core and we'll be able to use a normal heatsink.
