Thanks for the advice guys. I was leaning towards an Abit board myself. It seems like the better option. I can't afford the AN7 or the NF7-S for the machine this board is going into, so I'll get the NF7 without the "S". For HSF I decided to get the Zalman 7000AlCu, even though it's $20 more than I w...

NF7 vs A7N8X-X

Which is better in performance, quality, thermal monitoring, undervolting via bios or jumper, heatsink compatibility (or incompaitbility), and features (onboard lan, sound, ect)? I need a good MB for a budget computer, and these are about $100. At the start it will be paired up with an old Duron 800...

With the fan blowing down you get the "countercurrent" effect that is shown on the SPCR front page. The real problem is the fan's dead zone.

If used properly blowing down or up can be quiet and cool. I use the down method, and I get 25°-30° above ambient with about 10-20 CFM.

I have seen them listed by retailers as "pass through" or "90 degree" molexes. You could google for those. Indeed. The Pentium M is a formidable chip, and it has the backing of Intel's chipsets. Intel makes some of the best chipsets, too bad they don't make them for the Athlon 64. Is there any truth to the rumor that the Pentium M is a really fast P3? I heard somewhere that it was, but I don't know wher...

IMO that cooler looks nasty, especally when beside a 7000A. The contact area is smaller, there are fewer fins, and the fan housing is ugly. If I bought that I'd die of shame.

It even performs 10°C poorer than the 7000A. (in their testbench)

In Windows you can have multiple layouts. There should be an option to switch between the two when Alt+Shift are pressed together.
