power from the wall seems to be 'dirty' at night
hi all i've this problem with my computer that seems to surface only at night. The audio crackles and pops. I'm guessing it's because there're more people home at night, thus the usage of more electrical devices in the house. In the day, sound is silky smooth and perfect. I have this problem with bo...

just got this Asus 8500GT silent. 1 solid capacitor, 3 Nichicon caps and 1 other japanese cap (can't remember the brand, but pretty sure it's japanese) I like the look of this card better than Gigabyte's, but I find the lack of HDCP support disappointing. It's a technology that I hate, but I'd rath...

Re: old topic, unfortunately still a problem...
I replaced with another, less efficient FSP power supply and the system works like a charm. However, my wattage at idle jumps from 41W with the 80 PLUS ENP3150 to 47W with the other power supply (just checked - it's 400W so that explains some of the increase). I can't believe this problem still exi...

Everytime I read this thread the overclockers on other forums piss me off more and more. Its gotten even worse now, everyone is recommeneding at least a 450w power supply for an average (fairly high end) gaming system. I always say, just get a decent 300w and youll be fine and I get my head chewed ...

I have a Windsor 3600+ 65w EE and NF-M2 nView. Same as your chip except that mine has only 256kb of L2 cache. I managed to get mine down to 1.05v down from the default 1.25v. This is slightly lower than the Windsor 3800+ 35w EE's stock voltage of 1.075v. I've managed to get my chip up to 2.3GHz at 1...

Hi all, thank for your replies. I took off the ninja and the outer edges have scratch marks. This shows that either the IHS or Ninja (or BOTH!) aren't flat. I've cleared out the AS5 and used applied ShinEtsu all over the IHS, but temps seem to be the same. I'm fine with the temp, though it just feel...

notebook 5400rpm drives good for sustained 25MB/sec?
Hi ya. I'm looking to put a notebook drive in my computer. I was wondering whether recent notebook drives (particularly Samsung PATA 5400rpm) are good enough to sustain 25MB/sec. This is the speed required for DVD burning, though only towards the outer end of the disc.
Anyone has experiences? thanks

Thought I'd throw in my initial experiences with Vista. We got a copy of the upgrade as part of our Action Pack.
