those tower heatsinks will work. But the Sonata has crappy intake airflow anyway. I'm not sure if it'd be a good idea to have a hot quadcore processor in there.

power from the wall seems to be 'dirty' at night

hi all i've this problem with my computer that seems to surface only at night. The audio crackles and pops. I'm guessing it's because there're more people home at night, thus the usage of more electrical devices in the house. In the day, sound is silky smooth and perfect. I have this problem with bo...

btw, the Gigabyte 8600GTS w/ SilentPipe3 does NOT require external power. Completely powered through the PCIe slot.

Try the Biostar mATX motherboards based on the ATI 690G or NV 7050.

I personally have the Abit NF-M2 nView, and that's because the newer chipsets weren't out yet...and i personally like the Rubycon caps. but that's just me

Re: old topic, unfortunately still a problem...

I replaced with another, less efficient FSP power supply and the system works like a charm. However, my wattage at idle jumps from 41W with the 80 PLUS ENP3150 to 47W with the other power supply (just checked - it's 400W so that explains some of the increase). I can't believe this problem still exi...

computer hardware experts recommending 600w PSUs for a typical Core2Duo + nvidia XXXX GT setup. (those 2 components don't even break 200watts!)

And hardware distributors refusing to bring in Antec/Seasonic 380watts because of lower margin and lower demand compared to 430w versions.

notebook 5400rpm drives good for sustained 25MB/sec?

Hi ya. I'm looking to put a notebook drive in my computer. I was wondering whether recent notebook drives (particularly Samsung PATA 5400rpm) are good enough to sustain 25MB/sec. This is the speed required for DVD burning, though only towards the outer end of the disc.

Anyone has experiences? thanks
