I was under the impression that the fan wasn´t in the PSU (the sam way my fan is:) in that case there are no PSU-fan. The only problem I can see is the one dukla2000 made me aware of, that you can´t run the puter with the sides off, since the PSU will not get any airflow.

Well, I´ve made it. The GPU dropped 5 degrees compared to stock-cooling, the cpu dropped 4 degrees compared to when the fan was left in the PSU. only hope the PSU gets enough airflow... the only downfall right now is that I should have spent the extra money and bought a barracuda instead of the IBM:...

*grin* I know! I mostly spend time educating the people I am buying hardware of:) And believe me, no offense was taken, I understand fully well the problem!

*grin* Not a topic that very many people answers:) I asked the exact same question twp days ago... I have a 120mm sucking air from the rear opening and an airduct that leads it down over my Zalman6000Cu HS and a much smaller airduct that leads a fraction of the flow down to my zalman-modded FX5600 (...

It is annoyingly true though, the more money you spend on quiet parts, the more annoyed you get over stuff that almost makes a noice... I started to silence my puter a long time ago, but it wasn´t until recently I found SPCR. Thanks to some luck with finding a good fan (large and "silent" with extre...

That was a point I hadn´t conciderred... but you are right, you realy need the airflow thgough the PSU:)

Anyway, the PSU will be my main exhaust. The reargrill is where I push the air into the case, directly onto my zalmanflower cpu-cooler.

Noone? And I who thought that the possibility of running an 2000XP with only one fan at low noice-levels, would be interresting to lots of people:) Anyway, I might as well report my progress so far, what little there are of it:) I sealed up my case yesterday which immediately caused the temperaturs ...

Running a Codegen 350w fanless?

Okay, here is the deal. I have a compucase 6A21 which has mountings for 120mm fans at the back and in the front. I also happened to run into an all Aluminium TITAN-fan 120mm which shuffled 79+CFM at less than 29db which I naturally volted down so that it now flows about 44 CFM and should hold about ...

The P4 I reffered to above was as well a 0,13 micron cpu. I´d say part of the problem is in the thermal paste. As staded above, the buncled paste is not arctic silver, exactly. Part of the problem is bad airflow in the case. A friend of mine has a side-intake fan which ruins his airflow and he as we...

For those of you that has no problem doing hardwaremodding on your cpu:s, here is a site I came across with detailed informations about the bridges of the ThoroughbredB and Barton cpu, among other things how to change the default-vcore setting, for those of us with asus boards or other mobo:s unable...

What ASUS-board do you use? I just yesterday switched between A7V8X-X and A7N8X-X (The manual seemed to suggest the possibility of undervolting, which I can now tell you is a fake) and found that the readings in asusprobe is much more true to the bios-readings on the A7N8X-X than the former board, w...

The arctic cooling isn´t the most effective HS to start with. I have for various reasons built almost 10 pc:s using arctic cooling for XP:s 1700+ (palomino)-2000+(ThbB) and I have not seen one of them running cooler than 50C using the bundled thermal paste. Also, I have found a neat little program t...
