What is everybody suspending their hard drives with? It looks like some of you are just using shoe laces and others are using elastics.

you wouldn't happen to have anything to compare that L1A in your sl350s to anything, would you? like say a nexus or antec 120mm? The 5v'ed antec fan in their now is practically the only source of noice. And it's loud, well not loud, but relatively loud I've never had the pleasure to deal with a Pana...

The whole system so...

Safe to 7v the fan inside the Antec SL350S?

The Antec SL350S that came with my 3700BQE ramps up pretty noticeably. Is it possible to bring that down to 7v? I guess I'd have to open it up, disconnect the fan from the psu circuitry, and then wire the fan to the psu 4 pin connections like all the other fans? I'd probably stick a 92mm nexus at 7 ...

alright alright, you guys showed me. :) I stuck my own Nexus 120mm on top of my SI-97 and volted it down to 7v. Then I stuck my stock Antec 120mm (from my 3700BQE) and volted that to 7v as my exhaust. Since the stock Antec PSU loves to ramp up, I strapped the 92mm Nexus at 7v onto the front intake g...

Well then, good luck with the project. You might want to get the SI-97 first and see what you can do to accomodate a 120mm fan, before ordering all those.

I have the SI-97, with a 92mm Nexus on it. I really dunno how you'd get a 120mm on there. You'd have to be a great ghetto modder, and you should also consider how much space you're going to have (PSU above) in your case, and with your mobo setup. I don't really see why you need to buy 10 fans for 40...

I almost went that route... then decided to go SI-97 w/ 92mm Nexus. I'm sure that this is giving me better results than the Nexus 3200+ would have. It keeps my 2500+ probably 33-36C idle at 12v, 40ish at 7v, and right now at 5v i'm at 48-50 idle. It's incredibly quiet regardless of what voltage you ...

Yeah there is no bottom fan on this 3700bqe PSU, I think just an 80 mm in the rear. Thanks for the input.

Correct - no front 120mm intake. HD's are a little warmer, but I haven't seen anything above 45. Right now idle after leaving the computer on all night doing nothing te 80 gb is 35 and the 120gb is 31. That used to be about 31 and 29 respsectively with all my fans at 12v. I just google'd for a hard ...

I am also wondering the same thing, for the same PSU. Any fan recommendations? I don't know how much CFM the current fan pushes, but I'd like to get pretty close.

Oh hey thanks, sorry about that, I'll keep that in mind for future reference. Everybody likes a picture of someone else's computer  With the Antec 120mm at 5v as my rear exhaust my case temp has remained 32C but my cpu is now 37C, 4C higher than with the Nexus 120mm at 12v. I think the Nexus a...

Thanks for the welcome burcakb. Quick question, I was just fiddling around with the stock Antec 120mm to change it from 12v to 5v, and it works, and is quiet but not moving much air so I'm seeing as I type that my temps are up a few degrees. But the Nexus 120mm has three wires leading from it, black...

I used the Ceramique on both the SilentBoost and SI-97. Belive me, uprade to the SI-97 and a quiet fan like the Nexus or one of your preference, and you will be running cooler and a lot, lot quieter. And I am using the copper shim also on the SI-97 right now. sourji0u, is thaht Seasonic Super Tornad...

Well it's winter here, just got our first snow last night, so no AC. Ambient is 70F so 21C. The silent boost (certainly not silent) was at stock voltage. It says rated voltage of 12v, started voltage 7v here http://www.xoxide.com/thsibofork7a.html I guess I dont really understand what that means. Th...

SI-97 and Nexus 92mm Success

Well I've succeeded in quieting down my computer. A Zalman northbridge heatsink helped a lot, the SI-97 is phenomenal, and the Nexus 92mm is silent. I have the Nexus 120mm on the rear, and no front intake. I wanted to share my experience/success here becuase I came here, lurked, and this place ultim...
