What has been your experience so far in trying to get it quiet? Obviously the phantom probably helps, but you mentioned the actively cooled video card. I'm planning on eventually getting two of these things to replace mine and my wife's computers. So, however loud one of these are, it'll be times 2 ...

fashioned nuts, goddam it!?). It's constructed so flimsily that, with the motherboard tray pulled out, the power supply makes the back of the case 'sag' a little (I have a phantom 350 in there). One more thing: the power switch was broken (intermittent) when I got mine. And there's no instructions ...

Appearantly the "-EKRS" on the end must stand for giga-bit lan, because that review board doesn't have it.xarope wrote:Looks like there is a review here:

Re: Which fan controller for this non-traditional applicatio
Needless to say, even though a HTPC would be installed in the rack, I need the fan controller to run indepentantly of the HTPC, so it would do it's thing even if the HTPC was turned off. Is it actually likely the HTPC will be turned off? Mine stays on all the time (it serves as my PVR). The other q...

i've used 3M double-sided adhesive foam tape for years without problems. one advantage is that you can line it all around the fan edges so it 'seals' the fan against the case. and of course one disadvantage is that you can only pull the fan off a few times before it stops sticking, so it's not good...

Silverstone (I think) recently started selling a plastic PSU duct. There were a couple of recent posts about it in the forums. A quick search should turn up the info. Yes, they do . Problem is that this duct is definitely made for the more typical PSU-on-top case. This duct will only angle the air ...

When did this get here??
Foxconn NF4K8MC-EKRS??
Are my eyes deceiving me? Do I finally see a motherboard that has everything I've wanted:
Micro-ATX
Athlon 64/X2 support
Gigabit LAN
PCI-e video
SATA
non-sucky chipset NB/SB(NForce 4 will do nicely, thank you)
*Prepares to be disappointed again*

Good idea, but maybe if you used elastic (from the sewing section) it'd be better. I use elastic cord to mount my fans....no problems yet.threevok wrote:I use 1/2" wide rubberbands with knots tied in them to mount my case fan and PSU fan. I think this may be my next Athlon64 motherboard purchase since it is completely passive without the neat for heatpipes. http://www.anandtech.com/mb/showdoc.aspx?i=2481&p=4 I was going to buy another Abit AN8-Ultra for myself....but now.... The other option is to get a mobo that supports RAID 5, like the Asus SLI Premium board (the promise controller onboard supports raid 5). I thought the A8N had a Silicon Image RAID controller chip. I bought mine from Computer HQ (out of stock right now), cheape...
