I tried that before. Their answer is that they cannot disclose such information. Weird but true. Mainly because ayone with the drive can check about it with a disk utility and see the manufacturer code, Google it and find the exact disk model.

Which links? One is for Seagate and the other is for Samsung. They are different beasts!

It seems to me that Samsung is the quietest mechanism in general and Seagate the louder.
