http://www.xoxide.com/thermalright-si-97a-cpu-cooler.html There you go. And it's on sale too :) I got one myself too (though not at that shop, I'm in Europe) but have not yet installed it. It'll replace a Zalman CU-5100 on a Palomino XP2000+. I've ordered a 92mm Nexus fan with it, ran it in the test...

Interesting to see that that backplate sink does lower the temperatures some across the entire range. I was skeptical about the use of that. It should be interesting to see how they develop that further, in terms of minimizing mainboard interference, maximizing (thermal) contact, etc.

Saw the demo too a while ago when I was checking out their new disks. When I did I started to wonder how much different this "Intelliseek" is from " NCQ ". Maybe they added some intelligence to make the head movement more smooth, and I can see that being interesting and beneficial. But the overall i...

One thing with the Matrox cards, which you may have concluded yourself: They won't support the new Vista Aero features most likely.

Just wanted to point it out to be sure, since I forgot to mention that in my other post, sorry about that.

Do you have fans connected to all terminals? I read in a review the controller assumes 4 fans will be installed by default, and you have to change the mode (to standby if I recall correct) of the ones that have no fan attached.

Yea, I am sure the new ones have them included, but I am not sure where the new ones are available ...

Not sure what operating system you will be running, but if it's Vista, you should read this: MultiMonitor Support and Windows Vista.

Finally, of course I'd expect Vista to be much better than XP, like every new model should be better than the previous one. I am also confident that its performance will improve over the time, when hardware manufacturers improve their drivers, the way that happened with XP. I think that's the main ...

If you don't care about games, I can recommend the Matrox P650 . I'm using one myself right now, and the 2D performance is great. Not sure if the Thermalright SE-128 SE is available in your regions yet, but it might be worth considering. Yea, they did make an odd choice of wire colour when they made that diagram. There is a little "notch" on the far side of the connector that should prevent you from plugging it in wrong. Doing it with HTML alone is no good. There used to be a "hack" that allowed use of action="mailto:..." in the form, but some browsers will now block use of that, and you'd get spammed to death after about a month or so. Most of the Western Digitals have a max operating temperature of 55 to 60 degrees. If you look up the specific type of drive you have (Windows Device Manager), you should be able to get a WD number. Only thing I noticed is that your choice of memory is not on the QVL list for this mainboard. The chips used on your selected memory (Micron D9GMH) do not appear on the QVL either. Though this may not be a problem at all, many recent mainboards have been very picky with memory. You can find the QVL ...

A lot of Intel boards with on-board VGA also support dual monitors (based on the 9xx chipsets). A fairly cheap add-on card supplies the extra port, giving you either dual DVI or Sub-D and DVI depending on what the board itself came with.
