Watercooling?

I've been considering components I'd like to place in my next computer, and one idea I've been considering is watercooling. It has the potential for quiet cooling and overclockability, and since I'm planning on going to college in Madison, Wisconsin next year, sticking my radiator out the window cou...

Their support sucks? you must be talking about a different Dell than I'm thinking of, the one I've experienced has excellent tech support... My parents office did pay extra for a better tech support plan, but they're replacement hard drive was installed for them the same day the old one broke.... On...

Well, this weekend I discovered a suprising fact! My computer finally achieved complete, total silence, cool die temps, and effeciency this weekend. I managed this by just foregoing the power supply all together; it was surprisingly effect at reducing noise, especially the whine of the hard drives.

I don't know about the noise, but I would definately ground the case. It shouldn't be neccesary, the PSU has ground wires, but its a good idea for EMI sheilding or whatever it is, an electrostatic discharge protection.

thanks for the tip on the fortron; they were out of stock on the seasonic. Same price range, also quiet, and, best of all, I resisted the urge to buy anything else! (replacing my 1800+ palomino with a thoroughbred would be a pretty nice improvement- 15 watts less and higher performance)

Spydercat may well be right, there was a 12v Vantec Stealth on the CPU ducted as an exhaust (which, btw, worked very well for improving case temps, based of my northbridge temps), but no intake fans. But anyways I'm thinking about buying the seasonic mikec reviewed, $30 and free shipping on newegg, ...

well, it was working fine for a month or more with the fan at 12v, but it does look pretty cheap and 1 of the two heatsinks is just a flat sheet of aluminum, it doesn't even have little bumps like the heatsink on my video card ( I was trying different voltages for the stealth and NMB fans, and my vi...

Fried PSU?

I decided to try quieting my new noisiest component, the Vantec Stealth fan in my PSU (svc was out of panaflos). To do this, I took it down from 12V to 5V. Booted up, and 15 or 20 minutes later, my computer shut down. When I turn on the computer, the power LED does go on, but thats it. I took it out...
