Right now I am using foam ear plugs in some of my fan holes. They seem to work very well, and the fan can be spaced a little bit away from the case metal. The ear plugs expand to fill the space nicely.

Is the hard drive actually blazing hot to the touch? Maybe the sensor is just reporting the temperature too hot. If the drive really is hot, I'd guess a lot of the intake air must be coming from the back of the case from the open PCI slots and vent. I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of air is just go...

After further investication, it appears everything fits... BUT... The top casepanel is actually making contact with the video card, and flexing slightly. It might be fine, but it bothers me - so I'm going to cut a rectangle out on the panel and maybe put a grill there or something. EDIT: I have comp...

I just installed my 5750 Silent Cell video card in my Antec NSK2400. The grill modification is not needed if the Gigabyte 5750 card is in the very first PCI card slot position, closest to the CPU. However, I might consider cutting off all of the inner parts of the grill (where IMOM bent) in order to...

That is a good point. One thing this mod really makes possible is blowhole(s) for the PCI area.

Inception looks like another Matrix inspired movie according to the trailers. Maybe I'll see it since it scored well on Rotten Tomatoes. I very clearly remember The Happening, only because it was so bad. I took my coworker to see it and I apologized. A few parts were so stupid they were laugh-out-lo...

My build is mostly complete. Like your case, I added two 120mm blowhole fans and am using them as intakes. I've been flipping fans around and running stress tests. So far, my favorite configuration is to remove the front fan entirely and seal all rear vents. The rear and blowhole fans are all set as...

Second of all, hibernating is kinda dumb. Personally, I don't really feel like allocating some of my hard drive to something that is completely unnecessary. Shutting down probably makes my boot about 10 seconds slower versus hibernation..so there's no point. When it comes to SSD drives and lots of ...

Does the power supply benefit from the large heatsink on the side of the case? Is there some sort of thermal pad or flat contact going on between the two?

I removed it on my K45 and replaced it with a regular wire grill.

I used a Nibbler from Radio Shack. Just make sure you remove all components (motherboard, PSU, etc) before cutting and you'll be fine. I also like to mask the area I'm cutting with masking tape, so I don't add marks from the cutter.

Zalman PWM MATE incompatible with Arctic Cooling F12 PWM?

I just got a Zalman PWM Mate to control my two Arctic Cooling F12 PWM fans. With the PWM Mate, the fans make a horrible squeal on any speed other than 100%. I have tried them both daisy chained and individually. I also changed the motherboard BIOS modes to disable speed control, Auto, and Enabled. S...

I've got nothing on the mosfets. The ramsinks have an extremely weak adhesive. I cleaned the memory chips very well and they stick, but I know they'll easily fall off if touched. I didn't see the movie, but Wikipedia says "The title and premise of District 9 were inspired by historical events that took place in South Africa during the apartheid in a residential area of Cape Town named District Six."

Someone told me it wasn't a shakycam movie. That would suck if it is.
