Is the hard drive actually blazing hot to the touch? Maybe the sensor is just reporting the temperature too hot. If the drive really is hot, I'd guess a lot of the intake air must be coming from the back of the case from the open PCI slots and vent. I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of air is just go...

After further investication, it appears everything fits... BUT... The top casepanel is actually making contact with the video card, and flexing slightly. It might be fine, but it bothers me - so I'm going to cut a rectangle out on the panel and maybe put a grill there or something. EDIT: I have comp...

I just installed my 5750 Silent Cell video card in my Antec NSK2400. The grill modification is not needed if the Gigabyte 5750 card is in the very first PCI card slot position, closest to the CPU. However, I might consider cutting off all of the inner parts of the grill (where IMOM bent) in order to...

Inception looks like another Matrix inspired movie according to the trailers. Maybe I'll see it since it scored well on Rotten Tomatoes. I very clearly remember The Happening, only because it was so bad. I took my coworker to see it and I apologized. A few parts were so stupid they were laugh-out-lo...

My build is mostly complete. Like your case, I added two 120mm blowhole fans and am using them as intakes. I've been flipping fans around and running stress tests. So far, my favorite configuration is to remove the front fan entirely and seal all rear vents. The rear and blowhole fans are all set as...

Second of all, hibernating is kinda dumb. Personally, I don't really feel like allocating some of my hard drive to something that is completely unnecessary. Shutting down probably makes my boot about 10 seconds slower versus hibernation..so there's no point. When it comes to SSD drives and lots of ...

Those modifications are very well done! How is your build going? Have you experimented with airflow directions yet? I have a PC-A05NB arriving in 12 hours. I read many pages about this case on various forums. This case has been around a long time but everyone's cooling strategy varies wildly. I was ...

Thanks for the responses! I tried the Gigabyte EasyTune software. It had a strange looking interface, didn't look like a Windows program. Zalman PWM MATE incompatible with Arctic Cooling F12 PWM?
I just got a Zalman PWM Mate to control my two Arctic Cooling F12 PWM fans. With the PWM Mate, the fans make a horrible squeal on any speed other than 100%. I have tried them both daisy chained and individually. I also changed the motherboard BIOS modes to disable speed control, Auto, and Enabled. S...

I decided to go with my mosfet heatsink idea on my 5770. I got a single Enzotech MST-73 forged copper heatsink from Newegg for $10.49. It measures 79.5(L) x 14(W) x 29.6(H) mm. Here is the item link: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835708017 I then mounted in in a vise and cut ...

I've got nothing on the mosfets. The ramsinks have an extremely weak adhesive. I cleaned the memory chips very well and they stick, but I know they'll easily fall off if touched. I'm thinking about what to do. I could stick these lousy little heatsinks all over the place with their weak adhesive. At...

I just installed my new HR-03 Rev.A on my 5770 last night. Looks like the thread poll is closed so I can't vote. I went with the "Type 1" install, where the heatpipes wrap around the card and the cooler is closer to my CPU. I haven't stressed the card at all yet. Do the memory chips need the ramsink...

Great review Mike. ...Wishful thinking... I'd like to see a side-by-side objective and subjective comparison with an affordable TV like the LG 50PQ20 50-in. 720p Plasma HDTV at Costco for $859.99 . I'm still using my 54" rear projection television from the 90's. I recently browsed some 50" Plasma s...

This is an awesome case. Very little is posted about it on SPCR. So far I've built two machines with this case. I moved a home machine from an Antec Solo to this. The motherboard is an ATX GA-P35-DS3R. It is so nice to fit a full ATX sized board in such a small case! I was able to fit an ATI 3850 vi...

This is a seriously interesting case. I built a machine needed at work using one of these. I set out to find the lowest priced case possible and found something very surprising. It handles full ATX motherboards but the case is about the same size as most Micro ATX cases. Compared to a common eMachin...

Acronis does clone systems without regard to whether the source or target is SSD or HDD, but be aware that when cloning to an SSD, it will align the partition to a 31.5KB boundary (offset of 63 sectors, a "track" boundary on an HDD). In my experience, Acronis True Image 2009 will preserve the align...

Re: Surprised more people aren't talking about District 9
I didn't see the movie, but Wikipedia says "The title and premise of District 9 were inspired by historical events that took place in South Africa during the apartheid in a residential area of Cape Town named District Six."
Someone told me it wasn't a shakycam movie. That would suck if it is.

Have you tried ATITool to scan for artifacts? I had to run a fan on my HIS 4770 + S1 to prevent ATITool from finding errors. The GPU temperatures were fine, but the rest of the card was getting very hot. I have since put my S1 on my XFX 4770 card, but haven't bothered to try it fanless due to the pr...
