Re: Corsair 600T review
Anandtech just did a review of the Corsair 600 T:

They found it to be "cool and quiet". Of course, they don't have an anechoic chamber for their testing. Still, interesting.

They've dropped out of the program for now. Are they still a good source for recommended components? I'm starting to think of a replacement for my very quiet computer. Our daughter needs a new computer so I'm thinking of an upgrade to my current computer and giving her my current one. Jim Sure... t...

I love the fact the I/O ports are on top, and even has a fan controller on top !!
Very cool looking. I wonder how quiet it is.

Re: Electronic Noise and Tinnitus
Interesting topic. This kind of idiosyncratic response to certain electronic noise seems somewhat similar to how migraine sufferers describe their experiences with regard to visual or air pressure stimuli. There is often no obvious or consistent source, (although a confluence of conditions can usual...

Re: Can't decide between P183 and Fortress 2, advice?
I've been thinking of transferring the internals of my HTPC to a tower. I have an Asus uATX P5Q-EM board. I have been eyeing both these cases. Would a P-183 or a FT-02 be better? I am not a gamer, so would be more interested in what would be the quietest as well as the best fit for my mobo.

Re: I'm Upgrading: Overwhelmed By Graphics Choices - Need he
The review on that 4350 mentioned his Aero score went down when he installed it. Not exactly a ringing endorsement Rest assured that the 4350 will easily increase the score of the integrated Intel Graphics. The advantage of DP over DVI, for the consumer, is mostly a smaller plug and thinner cable. ...

Re: I'm Upgrading: Overwhelmed By Graphics Choices - Need he
I did say I would like to have the option of Displayport, meaning I don't consider it crucial. It's more of a hedge on the future since, as I understand it, Displayport will be the main connectivity choice for monitors in the near future. But that could be a mistaken view. Perhaps I don't know enoug...

I'm Upgrading: Overwhelmed By Graphics Choices - Need help
I'm on an Asus P5Q-EM uATX board with Intel Integrated Graphics. There is only one fan (CPU) in my HTPC case, so I'd like to go passive if possible. I'm looking to add a 30" monitor (2560 X 1600), but my graphics doesn't support it. I'm looking around and researching and becoming overwhelmed with wh...

Thanks for this review. I was wondering where the current state of the art PC all-in-ones were at. Judging from the review it seems they are catching up to the iMacs pretty fast. I guess they still need to work on acoustics and thermals at high load, bigger screens and a little better components (li...

any questions about SSD are about silent storage. Nope. Questions about SSDs are about storage, since silence then becomes moot. Questions about silence or acoustics are about HDDs. The questions in the article were about Seagate's entry into the SSD world, and about HDDs in general, and market sha...

Thanks. When a spec sheet says it "supports" displayport, does that mean it's merely capable of having it, or does it mean it actually has it?

Nice review, and great to have a side by side comparison with the other recently reviewed notebook and similar drives regarding noise, power, speed, etc. Do you think the 250gb single platter version of this model would bump up the vibration rating to, say, maybe an 8 instead of a 7? Also, would the...

Most of the new all-in-ones look nice, and their specs are pretty good, and of course Apple I think still leads the pack. But as long as the major brands remain obssessed with glossy screens I can't be tempted. I had a look at a Sony AIO recently and the screen seemed extra glossy, to the point wher...
