A friend and I are planning on making the GF8800 ducts out of acrylic Any development yet? An acrylic duct would have a different design. I might very well have kept it under the card. I haven't really thought about it though BIONIC_EARS: Have you given this any more thought? Why would an acrylic d...

The Zalman 9700 has 90mm depth compared to Ninja's 110mm without fan, so memory clearance should be no problem. I think you're right that the Northbridge might be a concern. Newegg users report no problem with Thermalright 120 Extreme or Tuniq Tower, which are both longer than the 9700 (131,132mm co...

Actually what you need to remove is the plastic front frame. If you look closely you'll notice that there are 3 tabs on each side connecting this piece to the chassis. Try to release one tab at a time, left side first. After you've freed that side, do the other side. These tabs took a little coaxing ...

Hi Dean. The folks at End PC Noise are great and very helpful. But they won't be intimately familiar with Dell PCs. I own 2 : a Dimension 8400 and an XPS Gen 4. Both are 2 years old. The XPS has more serious noise problems due to CPU fans on back of case (XPS has 2, 8400 has one). As has been mentio...

FS: Smart Drive 2002 Copper Cool, Quiet Hard Drive Enclosure This may still be the best internal hard drive enclosure available. I think the Zalman VF-900 will be the quietest, the Scythe Infinity will provide the best cooling, but check to see if it will fit in your 7 1/2" wide case. I would replace the 2 thermaltake fans with either a couple of the slower(47cfm) Yate Loons or even better Scythe S-flex SFF21E fans. They'll m...

Klinn: I get the impression that you might be happy with some of the Silverstone cases or one of the Lian Li mid-towers without a door. Very clean lines.
You might also find the new Qmicra case interesting: http://www.pcdesignlab.com/ I think it would handle your system just fine.

How to remove front plastic panel from P182?
Does anyone have experience removing the plastic "frame" from the front of a P180/182? It looks like there are 3 plastic tabs on each side holding it on.
