I would think it would be ok. Lets say at lowest fan volts, the zalman has 6V across it. That means it can withstand an amp of current. Do you know the resistance of the zalman fan? & do you have a multimeter? Mm don't know its resistance, don't have a multimeter. If I knew the resistance, can I us...

fan controller - watts & safe number of fans

I'm using a rheostatic fan controller by Zalman that is rated up to 6watts. Do you think this is good enough for more than one fans? Now I have a 92mm Zalman fan hooked up to it, but I'm thinking of also connecting my noisy GF4 fan to it. Zalman told me "The actual temperature of regulator within Fa...

(weird, I thought I replied to this thread...) thanks for the replies, I have since 1) removed the old harddrive 2) reinstalled Windows 3) scanned hd by Norton Antivirus 2003. The air coming out from the PSU doesn't seem that hot. I don't have a multimeter so can't check the voltage. So far the PC h...

I took out the exhaust fan and left the intake fan alone. I've had two harddrives running, but one of them is old. I thought it might be Windows too, maybe it's time for a good reformat.

How are the power readings by the way, ok?

I noticed that Panaflos don't have the 3rd yellow wire that some other fans have. Can anyone please explain to me what the difference between two and three wires is?

How do you do that? The only option I know is the "turn off harddiscs after n minutes" option but wouldn't that turn off all drives?

(and that's the ATA100 version, hope the SATA version will be as quiet too ;) )
Woah, I didn't expect that. 3dB means it's mathematically only 50% as loud, and noticeably quieter in practice. Great stuff.

by the way, is epoxy absolutely irreversible?

I think I might get the new Zalman heatsink since the installation appears to involve only screws.

I don't really trust any decibel ratings anymore since there is no standard distance of measurement.

is this the Panaflo 92m L1A that you guys would recommend?

it's 42.7CFM, 27dbA. Isn't 27dbA a bit loud? (I need to turn down the voltage?)

I would think that the 79C under load is a load of crap. Note also that they said the idle was 76C. There's no way that's right. I bet they messed up the install or something. Yeah I suspect they might have installed it incorrectly. Another review suggests a rise of 10C over stock: http://www.nokyt...
