Do any of you true silent junkies run any fan @ 12 volts?

As always crits welcome. Well darn it, I am into summer tinkering again and set my hd on the bottom of the case on foam until I build an isolater with bungies and I removed all 5 v fans cept the one on the video card, and I have my cpu fan at about 9v and my rear exhaust is 12v Panaflo 80 mm M and m...

To further my my post, rather than starting a new one, I also just laid down my hd in the bottom of the case and placed wee bit of foam under it and left my top slot bay open covered with screen for fresh air to the seasonic and I removed the intake fan and remounted the exhaust fan with a 80M panaf...

I never considered removing the non used molex ends - kinda scary since I am still tinkering but it would save lots of space too. :)

Thanks for the tip on the wire wrap gonna head to the parts haus and check it out. And watch my temps to improve. :)

I cut out all my grills to get max air in and out, mine looks pretty bad from behind and I scratched the top once trying it upside down, hehe. Those fanless psu look nice but cost a fortune, I am happy with the modded one I got from Mike. Hope you don't get addicted to tinkering as bad as some of us...

I just did that with mine, the Seasonic I have would not kick in after about two hrs so I ghetto wired it at 5v and the air is not real warm out of it and I have meshed the front slot of the 51/2 bay slot and ducted air to it, this helps a bunch. I did I think fry my first psu this way though, it wa...

Did you wire the 7volt then on its own molex? How about 5v had you tried that? That is how mine is set on. My only difference is that I have the 80L mounted under the bungie strap that suspends my hd in the 51/2 bay drive space. Yours is prolly superior cos you have some space to the hd. What is you...

Another option I did once was to reformat the hd then reinstall windows and isntall any games you got or just load something, I dunno, like quickbooks, then copy it over and over until you nearly fill the drive. Thus you have reformated and then rewrote to the hard drive to invalidate a hackers dream.
