Positive air pressure allows the dust capture and cleanup to be more controlled. That is because the air and dust is coming in from one major location (usually the lower front bezel area). With negative air pressure, air comes in from multiple areas. Positive air pressure helps to keep it focused in...

Did you modify the Chenbro 611 to have a front fan like this:?

I've updated the list to include the Ahanix Black Knight. It's finally available for purchase at Mwave. $65 is a great price considering the built in fan controller and LCD display.
Thanks to ColdFlame for posting about availability at Mwave.

Good choice on the CompuCase LX-6A19. Because the best airflow is important to you, the Antec BQE would not have been the best for you since the front drive cages hinder air flow.
And you just can't beat the $39 price tag at Directron.

You could not use one of the rear fans, or reduce them even further to 5V. It's hard to say without experimenting and watching your temps. This is why I prefer a single equal 120mm fans in front and back (or more fans in front). I turn the one in back as slow as it can go, and the one in front runs ...

I'm not sure you followed my explaination. According to Gefen, to go only 50 feet, you would need two 25' DVI cables, plus the DVI repeater in between. That puts you at $400 for the repeater, plus the price for cables. He said that in some situations, if you extend too far, you have no video signal ...

This case looks the same as the 611. I was able to modify the front of 611 to hold a 120mm as well. Here is my Chenbro 611 project.

I just got off the phone with Gefen. The tech said that their high quality copper based DVI cables can go 25'-30' feet. Anything past that will require their DVI repeater. The DVI repeater goes in the middle of 2 DVI cables. With the DVI repeater, you can go to about 50' feet. Higher resolutions als...

Hi Jonathan, This weekend, I also worked inside my Evercase 4U. I recommend removing the cage that holds the speaker. (This can be seen at the top right of this picture) http://images10.newegg.com/productimage/11-127-011-05.JPG There is no reason for this cage unless you are dealing with long server...

I don't want to get too far off topic, so I started a new post on my recommendations about low air resistance, low fan speed, low noise techniques.

Low air resistance, low fan speed, low noise technique
I've built hundreds of computers, and I've come to the conclusion, that using filters will keep the computer a little cleaner on the inside, but causes them to be louder. This is because you have to run the fans much faster to compensate for the poor air flow. I've learned to go all or nothing. The ...

I don't own an Acousticase C6607, however I have built the same thing. Click here to see it . In my opinion, the CompuCase LX-6A19 is the best steel case on the market. Derivatives based on this case are: LX-6A21, D8000, Macase GALAXY II, Antec SLK3700, and Acousticase C6607. It's designed well, and...

The European Compucase and USA web sites are both wrong. The English Compucasecorp and UK web sites are correct. The 6919 only has one 120mm. Here's a pic. Notice the front fan design does not accomodate a 120mm. http://store.yahoo.com/lib/directron/6919sb If you want dual, check out this list of ca...

In my experience, it is definately worth it to modify the front of the case to increase air flow. Good airflow like this allows all the fans to be slowed way down, and your temps will drop as well. You simply cannot hear my computers unless you turn off the lights or stick your head under the desk! ...
