Does anyone else have any input on Silverstone PSU's?? I'm sure the deal won't last much longer, so I really want to get one ASAP. I have a PSU right now from my friends old Dell (P4, RDRAM, Radeon 9700 Pro) Dimension. My guess is that it tops out around 280W, but it is pretty quiet despite using an...

No need for the ZM80D, unless you can find it cheaper than a ZM80C.

The 'C' only has one heatpipe and no fan, but works like a (silent) champ on my 9700Pro.

I have an ST-360 and it is loud as hell. Don't do it. The Seasonic S12 330W is the same price. Acutally it's not, the ST-365 I can get for $44 shipped, and the cheapest I can find Seasonic is like $60. There are links to reviews at the bottom of this page:- http://www.silverstonetek.com/products-ST...

There's a coolmax that looks like a rebadged fortron blue storm at newegg going for pretty cheap: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16817159035 . This was one of the PSUs I listed as being an option. Do you know if it's possible to disable the LED? The PSU is for my HTPC and I real...

SilverStone PSU's (SST ST-365)

I've looked around the web and of course here, but I haven't been able to find a lot of info on Silverstone PSUs (with fans). I've come across the Silverstone SST-ST365 but I haven't been able to find any reviews or comments on it. I've been out of the game a while as far as PSUs, so I'm not so curr...

I know you said you didn't want a ghetto mod, and this isn't really what you were asking...but for simplicity's sake you could just find a piece of aluminum/acrylic/steel and cut it to the size of the fan in the blowhole and attach it to the bottom of the blowhole fan? Then you could disconnect the ...

Zalman CNPS7000B-AlCu or CNPS7000B-Cu all the way. I have two of them, one on an Barton 2600+ running stock speeds. Using the minimum speed of the FanMate I do not hear it in my SLK3000B (PSU fan is still too loud). That fan is on an Asus A7N8X-E Deluxe and no modifications were required for the ins...

19mm +/- 1mm.

That's just allow for PCB flex and thickness. But <20mm is accurate.

Hope that helps.

I have one on an ATI Radeon 9700Pro at home. Hopefully, I can remember to measure it when I get home. I do have one question, though. Why do you ask? Because if you're looking for that number to know if it will fit somewhere, you don't have enough room for this cooler. It needs a lot of room to diss...

A 9700 Pro will FOR SURE boot without a fan connected, as I do not have a fan hooked up to mine with my Zalman heatpipe passive cooler.

It WILL NOT boot up without connecting the extra power connector, however.

I doubt you could replace just the fan on this unit simply because I doubt you could find a source short of ebay for the HSF. I replaced my 9700 Pro's HSF with a Zalman passive unit and never had a problem with it. I plan on keeping my HSF, just in case though. ;) However, I'd look around for replac...

I had an old Compaq Presario laptop that use to whine when scrolling documents like webpages or word files. The solution? None, it's either the inverter for the LCD display backlight buzzing under the power drain from switching so many pixels in a sequential order (most likely) or it's actually that...

Actually, I think I found a good solutions. The boyz over a AVSForum helped me out. Thanks to the boyz here, too, cause you got me thinking. I'm going to purchase (I think) this . There is an available 5.25" to 3.5" bracket that will fit. And though this doesn't allow for speed monitoring (I can liv...

Crap, you're right. I didn't think that they'd be on the same circuit, but they probably are. I'd suggest shorting it and hope it doesn't cause any problems. Any GOOD circuit should be able to handle the LED being shorted out, but that assumes that the manufacturer of the controller used a good cir...

You could get your favorite one WITH LEDs and just cut the legs off or knock them out. Alternatively, I saw one on FrozenCPU that was a fan controller that was mounted in an expansion slot. Not PCI, but just one of those metal things on the back of your case. I wasn't sure about that since I was un...

That does look very nice, very clean. Good job. Two problems: 1) My soldering skills are limited, at best, and none, at worst. 2) I really wanted a ready-made kit on it's own plate, so I could stealth my CDROM. I am getting concerned that it might be my only option. How can I be the only one who has...

Fan controller for HTPC

Ok, looking for a decent (read: "cheap") fan controller for my HTPC. I'll be getting some 80mm Yate Loons and I'd like to make them as quiet as possible. I have some ground rules that seem to eliminate everything I've seen that's ready-made. 1) Must not have any LEDs (what is the obsession with thos...
