Re: Quiet 4K multi-monitor DisplayPort graphics card help

Thanks for the help gentlemen. It seems like the Strix is the way to go. How important is the 10 bit per channel colour support? It seems that nVidia hasn't yet enabled 10 bit support on GeForces, only on Quadros. Similar situation with AMD, only some of their workstation cards support 10 bit. Also...

Depending on budget, Asus Strix GTX 960 with 2GB or 980 with 4GB, both with 3 DP. Most GTX 970 don't have many DP.

Re: SFX-L power supplies: modular SFX with a 12cm fan

If Silverstone would be smart, they would release a mini version of their SG-10, for mini ITX mobos, with SFX-L PSU, with just one 140 mm fan exhaust (with 120 mm mounting holes) in the back and no top fan (no top opening). Air inflow from both bottom and front (not lateral), with dust filters, limi...

You could use this info to cherry pick new candidates for the next SPCR fan roundup. Like the best in low noise airflow, Noiseblocker M12 and eLoop or BeQuiet PW2.

Re: Recommend me a 140mm Case Fan :)

You may even remove the front fan and see how bad temps are affected, the GPU might climb 3 - 4 degrees higher.
The 212 Evo is a bit weak for your overclocked 4770k, and this may result in fan rpm higher than comfortable at max load.

Re: SPCR's Holiday ATX Gaming Build Guide

Thank you for the review. For me the most interesting part was the 10C drop after modding the Define R4. While it is regarded as a very good SPCR-class case, it's obviously still far from optimal. A case that would dampen noise like the stock R4 (or better) while providing less resistance to airflow...

Thanks for the feedback bbalex. Could you do something, if it's not too difficult for you? Replace the stock TIM of your 2 Asus 970s with a quality one like Arctic MX-4. For this you'd have to take the cooler off the GPU, clean the stock TIM with remover and purifier, then apply the new quality TIM ...

I checked the SPCR reviews and it seems the last Zalman product was reviewed 2 years ago, so they weren't doing well. They diversified into more cases, PSUs, etc. and their products weren't standing out, some good ones were discontinued. It appears that most employees were aware the company was (quo...

... 180W, actually. That suggests a single GTX970 is the most this cooler could handle. I believe the X41 can handle one GTX 970, this X61 should be able to handle 2 (if it had 2 bases and tubing for them). I am not sure if it's possible for example to mount 2 X41's (with G10) in the top of a FD De...

Re: NZXT Kraken X61 28cm Liquid Cooler

For me this product would only make sense for the cooling of an overclocked Haswell-E. And in this case I guess I would settle for the X41 and a lower overclock instead of the X61, but I'm sure there are professional overclockers who would appreciate it. However I'd like to propose an alternative / ...
