I've done something similar to the top vent on my Antec P182.

It definitely works to make the system quieter from the front and top of the case, so I guess that the ModuVent would be pretty effective.

I've had a good experience with the Nexus Drive-A-Way. It almost completely eliminates the electric motor noise of a Spinpoint F1 750GB. By comparison, my Caviar Green 1TB is plainly audible compared to the enclosed F1.

It doesn't do much for vibration though.

damn. so maybe I shouldnt even try to put on the S1 this weekend. I could always sand down the little white spacers a smidge. I've never bothered with the spacers, and haven't had a problem with the last three cards it's been on. Just take due care when installing the heatsink. Don't over-tighten it.

As per the SPCR review for the P183, the top exhaust fan may be the primary source of annoying noise for you. See what the rig sounds like with the top exhaust fan disabled.
