Try to find one more test like that and you will se same pattern. But you will have very hard to find that type of test. You can find a lot of I/O performance test on servers. Also, GPU's hasn't been that fast so there hasn’t been any big problem. The only card that may have been able to saturate...

Here is one processor test that show how AMD performs better when the resolution gets higher or the game is more I/O intensive. http://www.overclockersclub.com/reviews/intel_q9450/ That test is done with 8800GT. Faster cards will have more dramatic effects in favor of AMD. It's exactly the opposite...

I know this is probably too easy for a solution, but why not just buy Asus Eee PC 901 ultra portable laptop? My 'silent minimalist workstation' concept, that I may build if I have enough time, is detailed below: - case and PSU: Antec NSK 3480 with Fortron Zen 300, side vent blocked. - motherboard: A...

More pics.
I thought this was pretty funny.
It's pretty sick concept. More then 3 meters of heatpipes in one cooler. That monster probably weighs 2 kilos.

There's no doubt in our minds that at 12V, the Noctua fan is much much noisier than the Nexus. We'll be happy to make a recording of both fans at the same time with the same mic in one recording. I don't think anyone questioned this? 33 dBA vs 22 dBA is quite noticeable to anyone. Hardly something ...

No it's not. It serves those who'd like to buy the best package (me) and it also serves those who buy their their compounds separately (you). Clearly a need for double test. Obviously it's also one of the reasons why they do a double test with fans.osmium76 wrote:... and so a double test is useless.

"For continuity, we won't be using their thermal compound. We'll take their word for it." I disagree with this policy. Even a difference of 2 degrees would have moved NH-U12P past HR-01. Thermal compound is part of the package and you pay for just as you pay for the cooler and fan. Therefore it shou...

So will the ZM500, ZM600-HP, ZM750-HP and ZM850-HP stay as quiet at 400W load as the ZM1000-HP will ( as seen here )? I very much want that ultra-quiet at 100W higher load headroom. But I hardly need 1kW. 600W would probably be more than enough. edit: I get the impression from Zalman's site that ZM...

Not sure if its enough airflow in the P182 :/ This is highly subjective. Some people have insane arbitrary temperature goals and thus need the best coolers and insane amounts of airflow. Some settle for stability and can run their computers quiet. It is certainly an issue if it cant keep components...

GA M78GM S2H will take Minja easily. But is there conflict between Minja and regular HR-05 IFX so I should use lower profile cooler? this because I've heard horror stories of this boards NB temps reaching 90 Degree's C! Why don't you see how it works for yourself, before you order the HR-05? Who ca...

Hi, Anandtech report 500w under load for a system with 9800GTX SLI and QX9775 (3.2GHz quad core "penryn"). That is probably an AC power figure and 80% PSU efficiency would give 400w DC. SPCRs review of the HX620 put it at 29dB(A) at 407w DC output (487w input), admittedly the SPL went up a lot by 5...

Its the measurement taken by Speedfan and the Asus monitoring software, doesn't specify beyond MB... Also, whats the difference between core and CPU temp. Asus software reads CPU as 45C, whilst speedfan reads temp1 as 45C and core as 58C or so, I would of thought they were one and the same... Your ...

Don't get HX620. Your rig is going to be close to 400-600W range loaded. HX620 is going to be screaming at 40 dBA at that load. You have 2 decent choices for such a rig. Zalman ZM1000-HP and Zalman ZM850-HP (my recommendation).

This is loaded with features and has also nice layout. I can get USB 2.0 card and Soundcard with HD 3450 perfectly in that, but upgrading later for example two slot VGA card would require me to abandon one card. But somehow that mAtx board is very appealing. Does anyone have experience any of these...

I agree. The heat pipe location on my three Zipang coolers appears to be an after thought. I have a feeling the AXP-140 will outcool the Zipang with the same fan installed. But... So when do I need a DVI connector with analog signals (DVI-I), except for connecting a display with only analog input? For plenty of reasons... Maybe you want to use a decent monitor for photo editing and decide to buy an Apple Cinema Display. They use DVI-I. Most LCD monitors have native DVI-D connectors, they are compatible with DVI-I. Maybe you want to use 4 displays simultaneously... I could list more, but if y...
