nexus fans ARE yate loons...just with different blade style and slower speeds. nexus took the yate loon motor/frame, and reconfigured their own blade style (less aggressive) and put in an inline transistor to drop the 1350 rpm to 1000. Basically, the nexus is quieter, but has less airflow. But the b...

normal P182 is good enough (they have all the same internals except paint job), unless you really want some bling, haha.... but personally, i find that mirror finish to be annoying the P182 + yate loons would have the greatest impact on sound, the fan controller is really just so that you can contro...

drop the E6850...and get the E6750...saves you $40-50 bucks and you can overclock it to match the e6850 (or better) infinity isn't as great as many would assume - the ninja actually will outcool it, so i would either get a ninja or an ultra 120. plus...that infinity is pretty much a 1 kg block sitti...

Re: Fairly powerful gaming rig in Antec SOLO?
1. Is this even feasible in the SOLO case? From what I've read, it would seem so, but I'd like to be sure. 2. Is the DDR3 support reason enough to pick the P35C over the P35? I ask this because the P35C seems to be quite hard to find in Finland or even Germany. 3. Cooling. I'm torn between Scythe N...

If you're looking at mid-tower ATX the first stop is the Antec Solo. antec's are available where he's at...that is if he meant antec when he wrote "entec"... Lastly, what is your opinion about samsung, seagate and western digital hard drivers. I want to buy 2x500 and I chose samsung. Do you think th...

NO YATE LOONS?! DEAR GOD! :( haha, just kidding nexus: better noise quality, smoother, overall quieter frequency....but it does have relatively weak airflow for a 120mm, and its expensive. scythe: a little more risk since some of the s-flexes used to have quality issues about ticking noises, but the...

hey, first off...congrats on your new pc! it looks absolutely terrific! one quick question...how much does your ultra 120 hang over the NB? would it be possible to fit an HR-05 on the nb? the width of the HR-05 base is 30mm, but the fins are actually only about 19 mm wide (according to specs), so af...

good hard drive choice....if you really wanted other choices, the western digitals aren't that bad either. for power supply, corsair only makes 450, 520, 550, and 620...and in your case, the 450 should be sufficient... I have no idea on how the zalman 8700 performs, but it looks pretty decent. The n...

$1500+ for any laptop is pretty high in my opinion... if you absolutely need a 12.1" laptop then, you'll have to pay at least $200-300 more than a similarly configured 14.1" - 15.4" laptop... I would get a 14.1 - 15.4" laptop - its pretty much a good spot that gets the best parts from both desktop r...

Re: Building a quiet PC..Please help.
Would the computer case be the culprit in my case? nice pun you got going there  As for your case options...i would have to agree with torajirou about the antec solo. For $99, you get a great case thats silent and cools well. The samsung spinpoint T series is quiet, a bit quieter than seagate...

crucial ballistix ram are at a good deal now..since they are clearing out for ddr3... so i would pick up a 2gb ballistix pair (the gold cas4 ones) for like $99 of newegg... as for cpu...yeah, i would get a core 2, probably the e6750, since at $200, its basically the best dual core you can get at thi...

ok...now i'm almost positive about getting a mini ninja, haha apparently spcr had an article on it... how do you think an e6750 (at stock) would run w/ the 2 120mm exhausts (both YL's)? if anyone has this setup, please leave your temps + pics if you like! -C2D e6750 -NSK2400/fusion -scythe mini ninja

good HTPC cooler... help!
i plan on using a NSK2400, as it seems to be one of the best HTPC's out there...and after browsing some webpages, i've decided to get either a Ninja Mini, Zalman 7700 (then fan mod w/ YL), or Zalman 7000 (same fan mod) Ideally, passive cooling would be nice, since i would use both 120mm exhaust fans...

pump --> eheim 1048 or 1250. The 1048 is a bit weaker (600 lph), but is dead silent - it should be able to run a 2 block system w/o serious issues, considering your loop isn't restrictive. The 1250 is a bit louder and puts more watts and heat into your system, but it has 1200 lph. These are AC (120v...

DECIDED ALREADY-- THANKS FOR YOUR HELP
ok..so i was just wondering if there are any plain thermoelectric cpu blocks, like the MCW60-T for vga... i've heard of the other TEC coolers, like CoolIT (too much $$$), and ChillTec, but i what i'd like is just the block so that i can build the rest of the system around that... or can i not do thi...
