IF when you get your 2.5" you find you still need an enclosure, you can make one using a Sony PSP case and some modelling clay. Jaganath, thanks for the suggestion, but I'm not really a DIY'er of any great expertise and so I'd be unlikely to go to such lengths. Is the PSP case really that small tho...

I use one of those oil-filled electric heaters that looks like an old-fashioned radiator type heater. It's dead quiet, heats nicely and is cheap to run. Something like this , but mine is about half that height. I was going to suggest the same thing. You can get smaller ones about the size of a cere...

Hexagonal pattern is the most efficient. If you're thinking of the stamped hexagonal pattern you find on the rear of PSUs, I don't think he would be able to reproduce that very easily? :?: The "most efficient" pattern is the least restrictive one, that is the pattern that lets in the most air. It also depends on how good your speakers are. You'd need something pretty decent sounding in the first place to be able to notice much difference. I have a set of fairly nice Monsoon speakers and going from ALC650 to a (used) Audigy 1 didn't exactly knock my socks off. Oddly I seem to remember them...

BrianE, it would take a shockingly bad ground in your house wiring to make the ground fail.
