EVGA Hybrid vs. EVGA ACX vs other brands for noise levels?
Hello, I'm curious if there have been any serious db comparisons between the 980 or 980 TI of various vendors and even between the EVGA hybrid water cooler and ACX cooler solutions. It seems strange that some people say how quiet water cooling is and others say water pumps are intolerably loud. I've...

Re: Replacing the front fan on a Coolermaster Cosmos II?
why not just use 1 or 2 silent 140mm fans ? I believe those are supported on the front of the cosmos II in stead of the 200mm fan I know you can put one at the bottom where there is none and one above but I've already got plenty of airflow the bottom - I'm not sure a 140 unless running at a higher ...

Thanks - I think I'll learn to live with the CM for another year. Hopefully by then the noctua will be available. If scythe comes out with one I'll consider it if the noctua isn't out by then.

Quietest 200mm fan?
Hello,
I thought I was going to fit a 140mm fan in the front of my case but it turns out it is 200mm! Can anyone tell me who makes the quietest 200m fan? My Cosmos II has a coolermaster currently - not sure of the model fan.

My bad it does indeed come right off- I was trying to pull it down like and idiot. Now I need to track down a 200mm silent fan!

Re: Quietest 140mm led fan with decent airflow?
Thanks for the input. Believe it or not I use the LED to see if my PC is on or not from the other room and to make sure I turn it off at night. I guess I could put in an LED light easily enough. I managed to put 15 8TB spindle drives in it and it is still very quiet and cool although there is always...

Quietest 140mm led fan with decent airflow?
Hello, I have a Coolermaster Cosmos II. I've got about 8 fans in it - replaced nearly all of them but the front fan. I've noticed it is the loudest one in the system. I was considering putting a Noctua 140 in the front but I think I might miss the LED. Not sure if anyone makes something that is LED ...

I just checked - I guess I won't need to put in a fancy fan control. Adaptec says my temperature is fine.

Re: Getting a software based 3 pin fan cooler?
I'm unclear as to those are the temperatures of the environment it can work in or those are the temperatures it can survive and function. That's the environmental temperature range Adaptec legally guarantees the card is able to work in. I'll contact adaptec today and get clarification for what temp...

Re: Getting a software based 3 pin fan cooler?
My RAID controller is an Adaptec ASR81605ZQ which runs even hotter than an LSI card. Everything else in my case is running under expected temperatures as the case has good airflow, however the adaptec runs HOT! It has two noctua 120mm fans running at medium pointed right at it and it still runs hot ...

Getting a software based 3 pin fan cooler?
Hello, Because of my case design, I need a 10mm thick 3 pin fan between slots for my raid controller. I put in a 1000 RPM fan and it just is enough for medium load and very quiet (about 14db). However I could really use a 2000 RPM fan for heavy load which will make it too loud for normal use (about ...

Re: Anyone try the GA-Z170X-GAMING G1 with a Scythe Ninja 4?
With that much I/O you may be better off with the X99 platform. It's my understanding that the Z170X G1 uses a PLX bridge to convert 16 PCI-E 3.0 lanes from the CPU to 32 PCI-E 3.0 lanes spread across the four PCI-E slots. I think that means your PCI-E cards will still only have a combined 16 lanes...

I only found a couple of places that even carry them. Amazon and Newegg usually have even the newest stuff. Hasn't this cooler been around for a while? SCNJ-4000

Re: Anyone try the GA-Z170X-GAMING G1 with a Scythe Ninja 4?
On standard motherboards (normal CPU socket placement) Do you mind me asking why going for that motherboard is extremely expensive, given that has some nice addons like the Creative Sound card, you will still have less spent going with the seperate sound card. If you are spending that high on the m...

Re: Anyone try the GA-Z170X-GAMING G1 with a Scythe Ninja 4?
On standard motherboards (normal CPU socket placement) usually it will clear the first PCIe slot as long as the coolers width is 140mm or below, this has been my experience on my TJ08-E (micro ATX case) with multiple micro atx motherboards, that usually have the 16x PCIe slot on the first pcie slot...

I do need all the slots - I'm putting in a 8x raid and an 8x nic. I'm hoping they start to sell it at amazon or some place with free shipping.
For now the video card I'll be using will just be my old 780 gtx w/ ac cooling - waiting until next year to replace with the next model not yet released.

Reviews of db reduc dynamat vs. accoustipak vs bitumen?
Hello,
I was curious if there was any actual reviews that compare the db difference of the same case, same hardware using the two different methods for reducing noise? I'd love to see a review like that on SPCR.

Connecting the fans in the Cosmos II for speed control?

Woulld you replace the fans on your coolermaster Cosmos II?
Hello, I'm thinking about building a new system using every drive bay in a Cosmos II case. I figured I'd replace all the 120mm fans in it with the Noctua NF-S12A PWM fans but I'm not sure if I need to replace the front 200mm fan. Since it will have over 12 hard drives in it, it will probably run pre...

Looking to build or buy silent ext array 12 bay
Hello, I'm looking at a lot of solutions - thunderbolt 2, LSI, NAS or a PC with 12 4TB drives. What it comes down to is my need for a large amount of storage (4TB drives in each bay), excellent redundancy as I won't be backing it up, very good speed, and a nearly silent raid solution. I'm used to ju...
