Hold your horses! I have this running on my P-180 case. Mine on fire at 56 Degrees C! How hot can a hard drive go before its danger time? I have 2 fans running too! Take hard drive temperature into consideration too mate! These are false readings, many WD drives have temp sensor problems. I have 2 ...

In my system, the SI-120 measures exactly 35mm from the top, plenty of room in the back. Maybe the socket position in other boards is a bit lower.

Be careful with (too) loose screws on the drives. Last week I found two of them in the bottom of my P180, luckily from different drives.

Sure they fit, the only problem I can think of is the CPU HS position on the motherboard.

I think they should have used a less restrictive filter in front, and another filter on the side, to balance things out.

The packaging... Excellent!

I guess when you have a very hot graphics card and some hot PCI cards in a badly ventilated case, and you use front fans.

It depends.

Don't add a front fan. NOISE!

It is quite common.

To cool your hard disk(s) without adding a front fan and benefit from one filtered air inlet, you have to seal it.

Could this be a case of the drive misreporting temps?
Start the system cold, check HD temp. Is it ambient? If not, the sensor is wrong.

If you use one Tricool for exhaust, another fan in front will do nothing for cooling, except if you need something extra cooled in the area (i.e. VGA or HDD). It could do something regarding dust, as the balanced in-out will force air to only come in through the front filter. If you use two Tricools...

My 3 HDDs got rather hot without a fan in the lower chamber. With the even lower airflow of a Seasonic, a fan is obligatory. In the upper chamber, remove the top fan, cover top hole, cover rear vent. Lower chamber, use the 25mm Tricool on low without covering the vents. Maybe experiment a little wit...

well from what i see it seems that the PSU fan is pushing hot air from inside the PSU to the CPU HSF / case contributing in a hot air built up inside the case exceeding the hot air exhalation capabilities of the case If that is the case, the PSU fan is turned the wrong way. If so, the fan brackets ...

It is both possible and easy, but why heat up your case and void your warranty (provided there is a WVIR sticker)?

There is a penalty for quiet components and slow spinning fans: HEAT!
