Re: Prolimatech MK-26 Multi-VGA Cooler
Methinks coming up with a decent VGA cooler support of some kind should be easy for any PC enthusiast capable of swapping out a VGA cooler or installing a CPU cooler. An insulated piece of wire from the top of the PC to "hang" the back end of the cooler, or a little piece of wood wedged in under w/...

More and more cases are starting to use 140mm fans. Perhaps it's time for SPCR to pay them more attention? Especially considering 120mm fans are pretty much covered.

Silverstone Gold Evoltion 550W and 650W websites are up. 140mm deep, fully modular, single rail design prabably Enhance. The fan speed curve suggests the 120mm fan speeds up from 800RPM only when the PSU is loaded more than 60%. 550w has one 6/8pin PCIe and one 6pin PCIEe, 650 has two of each. 8 sa...

Re: SPCR Quiet Certified Gaming PC by AVADirect Custom Compu
This line just... grinds my gears. True to form, the AVADirect Quiet Gaming System is, indeed, quiet. I can't verify the certification by SPCR; most sound meters don't read below 30dB, so testing to see if those figures are accurate just isn't possible . No, just because you aren't able to, doesn't ...

I was just thinking the other day that SPCR ought to review either the ASUS GTX670 or 680 DirectCU II!
It seems it's really as quiet in idle as I thought it would be.

I think they should stick to their little gadgets and leave the computer reviews to the experts.

Regarding the front fans, I think you should add a note in the review because while the case you tested (PS07W) has 1200rpm fans, the regular version (PS07B) has 950rpm fans.

Re: SPCR Quiet Certified Gaming PC by AVADirect Custom Compu
Considering they went to the 'trouble' of placing the HDD in a $100 Quiet Drive enclosure I'm surprised they didn't just replace the video card's stock cooler with, say, an Accelero Twin Turbo II which would truly make this a quiet PC. Kind of stupid if you really think about it. Adding a $100 part ...

If you want quiet steer clear of Western Digital. All their new "X" revision drives (SATA 6Gbps) DO NOT support AAM. So even the Blue drives will be noisier than your old one (I speak from experience, even though my WD10EALX is suspended its seeks are very noticeable).

Re: Noctua NH-L12 Low Profile Cooler
Noiseblocker fans cost 6 € and Scythe SlipStreams cost 7 €. When you're spending >50 € on a heatsink, are you really going to complain about paying 7 € for a quality fan? And the point was, the Big Shuriken costs 30 € and is almost as good as the Noctua with the 92mm fan. So yes, this is overpriced....

At 93mm tall with the 120mm fan (only worthwhile solution considering the wallet rape) you might as well use a Thermalright AXP140.
P.S.: You should really review the new Big Shuriken 2. No more push pins!
