I've seen these around before, but didn't think of posting about it here until now.

I stumbled upon this today looking for fan controllers. It may be the fan you seek: http://www.case-mod.com/120mm-case-fan-clear-blue-led-fan-compare-to-yate-loonnexus-p-1710.html It amazes me how much quiet-computing has permeated into the general PC sector over the years, but that description is ...

Nice bit of kit you've got there. :) Not surprising your temps are OK considering your CPU (assuming you're not overvolting it through the roof). But yeah, if you want to push, say, a QX6600 to 4+GHz you'll be looking at taking things to a whole new level. In this case personally I would go for the ...

I would start a new thread in the Fans and Control section, but to go ahead and give you advise I would shy away from any low RPM fans in your case due to your restricted environment, rather restrictive indeed. Have you considered a "pantyhose" filter? Not sure how bad the dust problem is for you, b...

I found the Western Digital Scorpio 250GB WD2500BEVSto be quieter in my MBP (got rid of the HM250JI I had in there for a bit). The WD2500BEVS a bit cheaper too so it's a win win. I also traded in the HM250JI as there are reported issues with it in MacBookPros. link I'm loving the HD501LJ in my deskt...

Perhaps a postscript needs to be added to the review to reflect the Noctua's poor pressure capability? Something like "we recommend these fans as intake or case fans, but their poor pressure delivery means they should not be used in proximity to heatsinks or other sources of impedance". Ah, forgot ...

I agree, it seems the Noctua fans do deliver in open air, but when paired with a heatsink which has tighter fins, its performance will drop, as the fan can't deliver a lot of air pressure. Yeah, that doesn't suprise me. Heard long ago from one of leaders of the time that the less space between the ...

That's the L1A. BX is the rpm monitoring version. Don't want to chide you too much but the identical specs should have tipped off a seasoned SPCR member. ;) :) Good to see someone hunting for a solid 25mm+ DC fan though. Oooh, I like that blade count on that Silverstone. Extra blades + extra thick could = extra good in restrictive environments -- if it turns out to be a solidly quiet fan.
