It isn't obvious to me that IQ has any direct correlation to wealth.... except that maybe really really stupid people may tend to be less wealthy than average IQ people. Are you being deliberately obtuse? Do you look at the real world much? I'm reasonably certain that any survey would show that gen...

I got that one, too
I can here nothing from the front, even putting me ear on the screen
I can here something on the backside, but only coming very close (20 cm). But who sits on the backside and that close? lol

Re: After an inexpensive and quiet PSU
I bought the Antec NEo eco 520 (still not arrived). According to the users here it is the same as the 520W Seasonic S12II-520, but cheaper. The Corsair CX seams to be louder than those two (according to the test here). Better is VX (according to test)

Re: CoolerM Sileo 510 vs Antec Sonata Proto vs CoolerM Centu
hey, nice to here from someone having my future case. (They sent it today, wtf) I think the foam does help least that is my own personal view. I added foam to the original Sonata cases too and that def helped more than a bit. But it depends on what is in there if you have quiet fans and a fanless gr...

Pentium D hotter than Pentium 4?
got an ooooold mainboard with a 3Ghz Pentium 4. I want to buy a new mainboard and chip at the end of the year. I could get a Pentium D 925 for $30, so I was thinking of buying it until I get my new mainboard. I know, both get very hot, but can I expect the Pentium D getting even hotter as the Pentiu...

what about drywall? come on....no coments on this? as mentioned above, audio professionals don't use foam as most of them have little effect and mostly on higher frequencies (and yea, you got low frequencies from the HDs) glasswool and mineralwool are dificult to handle and sensible to heat. drywal...

Re: exaust pipe in labyrinth form on the exaust fan
thinking it again, the fan would have more resistance, thus it would it would turn slower. if you speed the fan up than, so it has the same speed as before, you will have the same pressure. or what am I missing now? There would not necessarily be a one to one relationship between fan speed and CFM ...

Re: exaust pipe in labyrinth form on the exaust fan
The longer the exhaust pipe, and the more turns in it, the more pressure the fan needs to have. Often, more pressure = more speed = more noise Pic a quiet fan to start with and you won't need a muffler ;) oh yes, haven't thought on this.... thinking it again, the fan would have more resistanc...

yea, it was just an idea which came to my mind reading a test that showed that the major noise from inside the case comes out from the exaust.ces wrote:Just get good quality quiet components. That is the best solution and today you have a lot of options to choose from.

exaust pipe in labyrinth form on the exaust fan
the major noise come out the exaust fan, so why not make the noise "move a bit". perhaps a acustic foam in it, too.

to be able to run 4cores in the future, usb-powered mixing-tables and due to the warm climate I opted to pay the $19 extra for the 520w.
thanks to all, you are a great help.
Edit: Also less load of the PSU means longer life, doesn't it?

s there any threshold in load where you can say that the noise of your PSU increases significantly or is it gradual?

Re: PSU in a tropical country?
IMO, the best way to deal with this is to use a case with a bottom mounted psu. This way, even if the ambient temperature reaches 40c, the psu will work well within spec and shouldn`t behave any worse than in the hot box tests done by SPCR, where the psu intake temperatures are probably even higher...
