I followed your suggestion and didn't find any indication that anything apart from the mouse features that wouldn't work 100%. On the contrary; i saw quite a few success stories with the imon and logitech universal remotes.

you might want to check out this for a little comparison data between amd and intel. Page 3 has HQV video testing, and the amd platform fails miserably on most tests.

The Silverstone cases all use IMON IR/Remote packages, which work well with the included remote, but won't work well with a Harmony (or any other remote for that matter) due to the high-speed signal used for the "mouse" feature on the remote. Thanks for the answer. This is certainly useful and pote...

That one looks very nice indeed. While digging around for information on it on other webshops I also stumbled upon another candidate Silverstone MFP51 (which looks strikingly like an knob-less OEM product from SoundGraph as it uses the iXXX software they develop). Going from no real candidates to tw...

I finally ended up with the Asus P5M-VM HDMI. I cannot seem to find anything about this board... Did you by any chance meant P5E-VM HDMI? That seems like a good mobo, unfortunately not present in any retail store here :( You connected your board to tv via HDMI? ah, sorry. typo in the morning hours....

I just went through the same selection process, and i discarded the Abit card because I read about a lot of boards dying, and that it only supports 1080i HDMI out (not that it makes THAT much of a difference as most TVs deinterlace just fine). It looks stunning though. I finally ended up with the As...

Hmm, wonder if something like ArigenAE VF210 can do the job. Seems to miss the standard 5,25" and 3,5" size, so would probably have to get some tinted glass to act as a bay cover in addition.

That is indeed a good suggestion and a useful little trinket!, but it doesn't fit entirely with my intended usage. The plan was to just slap an IR-receiver on the HTPC, toss the included remote and use a universal remote, ala. the Logitech Harmony 785, to control the HTPC along with the rest of the ...

Remote controlling a HTPC

I'm currently in the process of buying parts for a HTPC project and it's flying along. Already gotten the Asus P5E-VM HDMI, 1,6GHz Pentium Dual-Core (placeholder for a low clocked Wolfdale), 2*1GB 1066MHz Corsair DDR2, Ninja Mini, 160GB 2,5" Samsung HM160HI (5400rpm, 1 platter) and 2*120mm 100rpm No...

Died silently while I was sleeping. The motherboard power indicator still lights up, but it doesn't respond to the power on button.

cooled by a nexus@750 my phantom will ramp up and down by just using one core at 100%. 2 core 100% load will bring it up almost instantly. add gfx load on top of that and it spinning fast and LOUD . Using another faster spinning fan in the lower chamber will create audiable turbulence. Doubt it can ...

Think all newer versions of the asus mb's come with a bios recovery directly from the CD included. From what i understand the PC will boot from CD even if the BIOS is hosed and install the one from the CD.

My issue with the Ninja backplate, is that if you happen to have any sharp leads (say, from a capacitor) protruding out of the back of the motherboard -- and these pierce through the foam and short out on the metal; this would stink in a BIG WAY! I had this problem. On my previous a64 build i was u...

For Those who have received new doors, have you received a new front panel along with the door? If so, does this new front panel have a magnetic power button with no power symbol on the face of it? Are there any other differences you've noticed with this new panel? If you have received a new door o...

Do yourself a favour and don't try. I did it with my phantom. The 24pin "tool" broke after the 3rd pin, and I havn't been so aggrivated in a long time as I was while doing this. Molex pins are easy, the ATX style ones are a royal pain.

haven't noticed anything like that on mine. Still sounds smooth. Seem to remember that the ATI models have a lot more reported "clickings" then the NV version. Something to do with the power supplied from the fan header on the cards.

No need to fiddle with the A8N32 backplate to get the Ninja on. Fits like a glove on the premounted backplate.

The Ninja will block the first ram slot when you use this memory. It's much taller then stock ram chips with a normal heatspreader.

I'd take a wild guess at RPM monitoring. Hook it up to a fanheader and use a program like Speedfan to display the RPMs the PSU fan is spinning at.
