I have been so wrong. The Nexus fan mounts I recently tried are indeed better than the Antec mounts. Both are very soft but the Nexus mounts can be easily removed for reuse and also work with closed corner fans.

I have two Samsung F1 1TB drives suspended in a Solo and I have not experienced a high pitched whine. One of my Samsung HD501LJ 500GB drives had a whine like you described when it was new, but after a couple of weeks it stopped whining.

Massive theft of service by PC Magazine

For eight years I have been a subscriber of PC Magazine. A couple of months ago I renewed for 24 new issues. The last issue sent was for November 2008. I recently discovered that PC Magazine intends to fulfill their obligations via email of digital issues. I am steamed and plan to cancel my subscrip...

Surf Newegg (just for info Aussie) and check out Gigabyte's AMD 780G offerings. You can choose from MATX or ATX at good prices. These boards also work with Phenom II and some future AM3 processors.

I paired a GIGABYTE GA-MA78G-DS3HP with a 4850E.

Is the XP-90 compatible with a Gigabyte GA-MA78G-DS3HP?

I just ordered a new Gigabyte GA-MA78G-DS3HP motherboard. I have a spare XP-90 lying around. If I order Thermalright's AM2 Rev B retention bracket will I run into a compatibility problem?

Thanks in advance for any replies.

How to test 1TB Samsung with ES Tool?

Hello SPCR'ers

Tomorrow I will receive a new Samsung 1TB HD. Because some people have experienced problems I will test with ES Tool before Use. Should I format the drive before testing? Any advice would be appreciated. I have never tried using ES Tool. Thanks.

The Solo has great air flow through the HD area even without a front fan. My Solo is vented by a 120mm Nexus at 600RPM and an Modu82+ power supply fan at 460RPM. I run two Samsung HD501LJ's whose temperatures never exceed 35 degrees. I did cut out my rear grill and also discarded the HD mount unit.

Using that kind of bandwidth just to show ok/not ok tags next to search results is intolerable. I'll certainly switch to another virus scanner when the support for 7.5 ends. Hello melton, The new AVG 8.0 function that does this scanning is an option that can be omitted. Refer to the Tweaking Compan...

I had to swap power supplies in my Solo several times recently. Each time I had to remove and reinstall the HSF. It seemed like removing the HSF would be easier than removing the MB. It may be possible with my setup to remove the PSU from the optical drive bays but I have not tried that.

I don't see how anyone can be certain that his computer is not infected if he does not employ AV software.
