Massive theft of service by PC Magazine
For eight years I have been a subscriber of PC Magazine. A couple of months ago I renewed for 24 new issues. The last issue sent was for November 2008. I recently discovered that PC Magazine intends to fulfill their obligations via email of digital issues. I am steamed and plan to cancel my subscrip...

Is the XP-90 compatible with a Gigabyte GA-MA78G-DS3HP?
I just ordered a new Gigabyte GA-MA78G-DS3HP motherboard. I have a spare XP-90 lying around. If I order Thermalright's AM2 Rev B retention bracket will I run into a compatibility problem?
Thanks in advance for any replies.

How to test 1TB Samsung with ES Tool?
Hello SPCR'ers
Tomorrow I will receive a new Samsung 1TB HD. Because some people have experienced problems I will test with ES Tool before Use. Should I format the drive before testing? Any advice would be appreciated. I have never tried using ES Tool. Thanks.

Using that kind of bandwidth just to show ok/not ok tags next to search results is intolerable. I'll certainly switch to another virus scanner when the support for 7.5 ends. Hello melton, The new AVG 8.0 function that does this scanning is an option that can be omitted. Refer to the Tweaking Compan...

After running a Seasonic SS-400 for three years I began experiencing hesitant cold booting and swapped for a Modu82+ 425w unit. After reading this thread I opened the Seasonic SS-400 to look for bulging Caps. At first everything looked OK but then I saw one smaller cap that was obviously swollen and...

I don't see how anyone can be certain that his computer is not infected if he does not employ AV software. I agree that good practices will likely keep one virus free but periodic manual scanning is a wise choice. If AVG Free 8.0 is configured not to run in the background there is no downside to run...

I use AVG Free AV but I configure the program so that no processes run in the background. I am willing to forgo realtime protection in favor of speed. A guide to configuring the new 8.0 version of AVG Free for unobtrusiveness can be found in the Windows XP Tweaking Companion on the Tweak Guides web ...

I installed SP3 on each of my two boot drives in AMD64 systems and all seems well. I was expecting the service pack to force installation of WGA, but apparently it does not do so when updating an existing setup. I also created a SP3 slipstreamed WinXP OEM install disk with AutoStreamer to use for th...

...there's always the chance they'll go the same way as Autopatcher... I think MS finally lost patience with AP when they started providing Office hotfix rollups as well as for Windows itself...
