there are more nonnative engerish speakers here than any other forum i frequent, which i imagine makes being a mod more challenging than on a more mono-linguistic site. Re: Zalman CNPS20LQ - sealed liquid cooler - is the pump qui

you would think a 6 core 970 would be much hotter having more cores than the 930. And a larger die size than the 3930k, at a not much lower core speed. The 970 is a 32 nm Gulftown core, and the 930 is a 45 nm Bloomfield, that's why the latter runs hotter. The 3930K on the other hand is a hot runnin...

The cooler from Zalman is not that different form the models from Antec. Keep the D14.

Re: lower price IvyBridge CPUs coming out something soon?

No I'm aware of the value in the higher multiplier. Just because I don't mention it, it doesn't mean I'm unaware of it.

In general, people are obsessed about load power consumption, without realizing that most CPU's rarely runs at 100 % for more than a minute at a time.

Re: lower price IvyBridge CPUs coming out something soon?

G620T actually idles at 0.1W higher than the non-T part. Idle is the same, and load power consumption is proportional to clock speed. :!: Why would anyone buy the -T, unless you can't lower the multiplier yourself? In a music PC, how often does it run on full load? And if it does, I bet those extra...

I don't know where you got that from, look at the pic.

Wouldn't it make sense (for once) to turn the CPU fan upside down when the PSU is that close?

Re: Scythe Big Shuriken 2 & Reeven Vanxie CPU Coolers

Heatsinks are not made for motherboards, heatsinks are made with CPU safe-zone size specifications in mind. Now you're just splitting hairs. Remember, board makers still want to sell boards. The issue with AXP-140 is that it is next to impossible to find anywhere (at least in Europe). It's nice tha...

Re: Scythe Big Shuriken 2 & Reeven Vanxie CPU Coolers

No, they are not big - S1155/1156 boards have mostly "wrong layouts". I'd say most heatsinks have the wrong layout. Heatsinks are made for motherboards, not the other way around. When you have to fit two chips (CPU + PCH) into a small area you can't expect one of them to be in the center, just like...

I've never heard of that resolution, let alone that aspect ratio (1:1.3333). It's not this one?
Edit: Olaf is a clever guy, I'm not. :P

Have you tried newer drivers, or installing drivers for the monitor?

Which output connector do you use?

Given that it's a mini-ITX board, and it's based on L12, I'd say it's 12 cm.

I'd try to replace the .cab, .hdr and .bin files, and edit the .ini files.

Data2.cab is twice as big in Fan Xpert 2.

This board has the laterst version of Fan Xpert 2.

Dunno if the 40% limit is because of the software version, but if it is, have you considered messing with the Setup folder?
I've downloaded both + and 2, and swapping files may help you get the better version.

I don't have any board to test, tho.

I would call it the data drive for the application you are using. If a slow spinning drive is fast enough for your needs, but you don't like the WD GP head park feature there are other "green" drives out there. I like the Samsung F4 for example but it's not as quiet as the WD GP. Isn't the AV-GP pr...

Re: Super silent graphic cards!

There's no point in whining about the lack of accuracy in TPU's review's, we all know that. The importance in TPU's reviews isn't in the numbers, it's in the relation to other cards. If a high end card like the 670 is among the quieter cards in the list, it may be worth looking in to. Granted, it do...

Techpowerup reviews many graphics cards, and they check the fan noise. I'm not saying that their tests are as good as SPCR tho.

Here's an example of a quiet 670: http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/ASUS ... II/27.html
