I would suggest removing the power cable from one of the components and, then, try booting to see if the noise disappeared/persisted. That way you would be able to put a finger on the noise first.

If you can find the Noctua NH-U12P at a bargain price, that would be great. It can be mounted in two different positions on AM2 motherboards: either with the fan blowing upwards or sideways. It's one of the reasons why I went with it.

The only thing I don't like is the dual 92mm intake. I would have preferred a single 120mm!
