Radical Sony VAIO RA-104
Not sure if I should be posting this in ‘Prebuilt’, but at the risk of it going unnoticed there, I’ve posted it here: Sony UK page Features: CPU heat is conducted to the radiator by a phase-change heatpipe system. Heatpipe radiator, cooled by a 120mm fan, is located where the PSU normally sits...

I bought the exact same Zalman, and it’s noisy. You’ll definitely be disappointed. Go with the Enermax NoiseTaker. Mike C has firsthand experience of the Enermax 325 and 475 (see SPCR PSU recommendation list).

I was aware of the 6A19, in fact it was the case I’d picked to use, but the 6919 may have a few advantages over the 6A19, based mainly on better air-flow. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v160/Magooo/6919fr.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v160/Magooo/6919rr.jpg Advantages are: * Panel thick...

Compucase 6919: Non-removable side panel
I’m concerned about the disadvantages of using a case with a non-removable side panel (mobo side). Would I be right in thinking there might be two issues: 1/ Won’t be able to apply sound damping material to the inside of that panel?? 2/ Won’t be able to hide excess wiring between mobo panel an...

Replacement after-market drive bays
When removing the drive bay structure in Sonata’s and BQE’s and similar cases, to improve air-flow, and not wanting to suspend drives, just turn the drives 90 degrees and mount them conventionally, then where can you find replacement after-market drive bay cages (both 3.5 & 5.25)? Haven't seen them ...

My main dislike about Acryl cases is the inherent "bling bling"-factor involved. Agreed. One thing that occurred to me was that acrylic doesn’t have to be transparent, of course, it can be made opaque – probably cheaper that way too. I’ve just read a few reviews and temperatures seem okay...to 4 de...

Surprised too at Mikes appraisal. So we should all be using acrylic cases. A few disadvantages I can think of... 1/ Not easy to mod the acrylic, should you wish to. 2/ EMI emissions – I’m probably the only one here that worries about EMI. Lining the case with modders honey-combe mesh, or painting th...

I just happened to come across the same case (at least I think it's the same) on another forum I was browsing. Another review. Google translation doesn’t make easy reading, but this is a more comprehensive review, inc noise tests. There's no additional inlet venting, apart from what comes thru one solitary 80mm fan, yet it's got a 120mm and a PSU to feed, so the front surely requires modding. How about an a...

Who makes this case?
Feartured in Custom PC mag this month - used in a Demonite system. Appears to have masses of potential as a quiet case. Mailed Demonite, they say it's not custom made for them, but wouldn't let on who it's made by. They're not sure wether it'll be available from them as a bare case. http://www.demon...

garetjax The best quiet cases allow sufficant airflow, without letting noise out. The Centurion 5 is almost entirely mesh and filter, this would allow too much noise to escape IMHO. It all depends how much CFM you require. Check out the front bezels on the Antec AMB/BQE/Sonata and Compucase 6A19 -t...
