i don't think it ever will be. they have been historically loud due to size considerations and shuttle's custom coolers.

you can mix and match cards that are the same chip maker (nvidia OR ati) but you should not combine the two. you can't run it that way.

No pun intended, but there doesn't seem to be as much activity on the silent front in much of anything (prebuilt/components etc.) is there these days?

the 80mm fan uses a 2 pin power connector so my 3pins won't work. have to ge an adapter.

I put in a passive 4670 (which idles at 60C and loads at 90C) and the intermittent clacking seems to be with the Scythe Shuriken's fan. I'm going to order 3 Scythe Kaze-Jyus (low-med-high flow) to replace.

Anyone know how easy/hard the Scythe clip system is to replace fans?

Mine's developed a fan rattling and I'm not sure if it's the Scythe shuriken or the Sapphire DDR4 Radeon fan. I am going to swap back in the original passive 9500GT to see.

i like my sapphire ddr4 4670 with arctic cooling cooler.

The Anitec SilenT3 would have been a competent office performer had it not gotten discontinued just after I bought mine for some reason.

HD4670 can run The Witcher at 1280x1024 at max detail comfortably (with 4x FSAA and 16x anisotropic filtering) but something newer like Dawn of War I have to run without FSAA at Medium presets.
