yeah, this is why i gave up on aftermarket cooling on gpu's, way too many things to consider for. rather spend the money on a non reference card with good cooler pre-installed

umm, aftermarket cooling for 5750 is very limited, AC TTPro will not fit.
vapor-x is ok i think but I do know the HIS iCooler one is pretty good, its essential using an arctic cooling L2 pro, techpowerup measured the sound levels and appears to be pretty quiet

try experiment with your equalizer as most vuvuzela should emit sound at a specific band of frquency,

looks like 233, 466, 932 and 1864 Hz.

I'm no expert but from what I do know: 1. while DDR3 provides negligible real life difference, it doe draw less power and afaik they cost about the same as DDR2 (at least in NZ..). DDR2 is dying anyway so might as well use something that will still be available in the next few years or so. 2. MSI mo...

quiet toilets

quiet a weird topic but it is very relevant to everyday life I remember when I lived in taiwan before 12, we lived in relatively new apartment, the toilets there are really quiet when flushing, but none the less effective at its job. Ever since i came to new zealand, all toilets i've seen are the ty...

Maybe a few fans for your CPU cooler and case? I'd recommend Nexus, Scythe if money weren't a concern. Otherwise, Yateloon is a safe choice for those on a tight budget. That said, I'm testing Enermax MAGMA DC/PWM variety of fans, and they performs wonderfully in my system in terms of acoustic. Also...

I'm not sure whats going on right here but the HAWK is actually quite affordable now, normal 5770 is about NZ$260~270, the HAWK can be had for $299, I'm quite tempted by at tbh, but I think I'll just wait for a passive card (best passive card right here atm is the 9800GT silent cell, costs more than...

hmm could this be able to beat the mugen II? can't wait for tests and results I'm worried about its stock fan choice -- after all, a fan rotating at 1900RPM stands no chance of being quiet. Fans recommendation

Recently I acquired a megahalem pretty cheaply so I am planning to get some fans for it. I am also planning to get a passive 5750 when they make their way to NZ. What I have in mind is to have fans that are quieter than my VX450 at low loads. My case is the Antec Solo, still have the tricool and hav...

due to the stupid galaxy PCB design, I can't plug in my accelero twin turbo fan into my 9600GT (both 3 pin, but the galaxy card uses a mobo header) anyways, at first 12v was totally unacceptable, so I modded the adapter to 7v, much better but still a too much noise for my liking. The temps at 7v is ...

Re: My whisper silent workstation finally upgraded

1 thing I noticed was that core 2 is always around 7°C 'hotter' than the other 3 cores when idle, but when stressed it was 1°C 'cooler'. yeah typical intel sensor issue (not sure if AMD has it too or not) most of their cpu thermometers are stuck under a certain temperature, for example, on my e84...

megahalem in SOLO?

searched through the gallery and haven't found anyone putting megahalem in the antec solo. Does anyone know if it is possible without modding or anything? i measured the distance from...
