Re: IP35 Pro and Fan Controls
Voltage - 8 or 12V with nothing in between or below. Really? That's disappointing. Just two values? Is there any chance that the board scales the voltage between 8 and 12 within the temperature range? Oops my mistake  (I don't have the board hooked up at present as I'm refitting the heatpipe ...

Re: IP35 Pro and Fan Controls
What sort of luck have people had with ordinary 3pin fans being controlled by the 4pin header? No problems at all with my 1200rpm Slipstream How are all the other case fans controlled? Voltage - 8 or 12V with nothing in between or below. Has anyone experienced the clicking in fans that are being co...

Greetings, ...But bear in mind the Slipstream is a sleeve bearing fan and won't be as quiet if installed horizontally (e.g. P18x top exhaust). I wonder where this horizontal thing comes from? As far as I'm concerned, it's a myth. I wonder where this horizontal thing comes from? As far as I'm concer...

The S-Flex is not a bad fan, but for the same RPM you get much better airflow with the Slipstream. It is a superb fan, bar none. Even the 1200rpm version is pretty quiet below 1000rpm. ...But bear in mind the Slipstream is a sleeve bearing fan and won't be as quiet if installed horizontally (e.g. P...

a P182 is... a must have I'm in the middle of building with a P182 and I must say I'm not that impressed. I'm not talking about the design - I'm talking about the construction. The steel is thinner than previous (cheaper) Antec cases I have owned and I have had to replace many of the rivets because...

World + dog appears to be bringing out updates, revisions, platforms, solutions, blah blah blah, quicker and quicker - often before any of the old stuff has had a chance to mature. Leave them to it I say. Wait till a stable, affordable, well-performing middle ground appears, buy it, build it, use it...

I'm pretty sure though that the nay-sayers LTFAO when they first saw a preamp with a huge power transformer. Comparing between transformer design/utilisation and the carpet thing goes completely counter to your argument. The former has years of experimental and comparative knowledge behind it, goin...

You will always get the error from the tri-cools, as the mobo cannot sense whether they are turning and therefore assumes they are not. With the s-flex: someone else should be able to confirm this, but it is quite likely that even though the s-flex is moving, it is probably moving too slowly for tha...

Are either of the 120mm fans physically starting when you power on (i.e. before you go into BIOS)? Does either fan have a yellow wire going to the 3-pin plug? If there's no yellow wire then the mobo can't detect whether the fan is spinning, which would in turn cause the error you describe. Tri-cools...

I've been into my hi-fi in varying degrees for years and there's one thing I've noticed of late is that people tend to shy away from proclaiming technical proficiency in hi-fi equipment, like it's the pariah brother of "just listening, man". It reminds me of a quote I read in Hi-Fi World magazine ab...

Yes mine had that blade design. I now have the S-Flexes. After some reading of reviews and forum posts here and elsewhere I went for 1,200rpm over 800 - apparently the 800's are not very consistent. The 1,200's are very nice indeed - a bit "wooshy" at 12V (nothing obnoxious) but at 6/7V they are nic...

Hi, Same happened to me, Antec offered me a NP650 but I refused and they offered me a NP650 blue instead. They are completely different supplies (the blue is made by Seasonic) but from what I've read the vanilla NP650 would be extremely quiet in your system. The 80mm Adda fan is reportedly inaudible...

As a Phatom 500 owner of almost 3 years, I vote for a sticky! I'm curious of what will happen. Thanks and welcome! Cheers! Antec Phantom Disassembled
Hi folks, My name's Bruce, I've been into PC silencing and reading SPCR for a few years, but only recently joined the forums. I'm still somewhat of a noob, as this is the first forum I've ever posted (and wanted to post) to with any regularity. I'm a programmer from Edinburgh and I like puppies and ...

In my experiencs with the newer Noctua's, you don't get what you pay for. I've heard that elsewhere too. I also know that a good proportion of the price we pay goes towards for the oh-so-smooth sales pitch, marketing and packaging. I'd personally rather that money went on making an even better fan....

4 x Brand New Yate Loon D12-SL12 - all "Clicking"
As the title suggests, I just bought 4 D12-SL12's brand new and they all exhibit what I consider to be a nasty clicking noise. It gets quieter at low Volts but never fully goes away as long as each fan is turning. I'm planning on getting replacements, but just wondered if anyone else has experienced...

Supplier of motherboard USB/firewire and fan connectors
Had a bit of a 'mare trying to find someone who could supply a small quantity of 2.54mm DIL housings and crimps to fit internal USB/firewire headers. Had the usual problems with RSWWW and Maplin - RS cost a fortune and want you to buy a truckload whereas Maplin just doesn't stock them. After three h...

Hi Floepie, I can confirm point 3 about 3-pin fans. Point 5 - yes you are correct and no there isn't - sort of... As I understand it, Speedfan (or any other fan control software) is only an OS interface for the mobo hardware which allows system monitoring/fan speed control in the first place (e.g. t...

Just completed the RMA process with Antec over my Phantom. Don told me there are no...

you mean the 33% failure rate hadn't already sown that seed? Very droll. I wouldn't now have this wond...

Phantom 500W S/N D07070001xxx Bought Dec 07 from ebuyer (UK) ...suddenly a REALLY loud buzz appears, almost sounded like an alarm clock.
