I don't understand western digital naming convention so i'm not sure. But is the WD10EADS 2 platter now that 500GB platter 2TB GP is out? Did they reuse the same name but changed from 4 platter to two? If yes then how will consumers differentiate when they buy!

I didn't swap the heatsink, but i did replace the thermal paste. The stock one was absolute garbage. The NB was running hotter than the CPU, like 58C but the heatsink was perfectly cool to the touch. And just to get an idea, how much amperage did you run through yours? It's been running safe since 2006? Someone's plug did melt in the other thread, quite scary a though for the money i put into the J&W 780g mini-itx board.

i found the "mCubed HFX Mini External PSU 165W EF16" which seems to have a connector that would match. Don't know what it's volt and amp output is though. And it's quite costly, and haven't found it anywhere in north america.

run a memtest86+ It happened to me and i found errors with memtest86+. In my case, after i changed ram from OCZ to corsair, it worked again. Alright, i went ahead with just using the push-pins, now northbridge temps are at 51C. It's a bit dubious though because even right after boot it's at 51C and never goes below.

Okay, i took the heatsinks off. Turns out they were using thermal tape. No wonder the temps were crappy. Just that now, i don't think i can replace it with arctic silver 5 because the pushpins wont hold it strong enough. Perhaps replace it with bolt-through? Would have to go get bolts and screws and...
