So has anyone succeeded in running winXP with AHCI on the minix? The drivers they provide on the minix driver page contains no instructions. I just integrated it to my nlite install and that didn't work, neither did it work when i install it after i installed windows. I'm getting frustrated here. ED...

Actually, it's usually during idle that you hear whine and chirps, when switching power supplies lower the frequency down to human hearing range. I had a problem like that with Athlon that was idling very low, at that time my core 2 duo was not very efficient at idle so it never whined. One [unaccep...

I didn't swap the heatsink, but i did replace the thermal paste. The stock one was absolute garbage. The NB was running hotter than the CPU, like 58C but the heatsink was perfectly cool to the touch. Upgraded with arctic silver 5, now it's faring much better, but the mounting system is really puny, ...

Since you refered us to that site, perhaps you are already registered there, maybe you can report the problem? It's a pain to have accounts everywhere. It's not that big a deal, i mean it's not a deal breaker, it's just right now my case is open air so i notice it a lot. I don't know if any bios twe...

If hybrid power becomes an oem feature, is that tied to the mobo? Then GPU makers, will they still make new hybrid power GPUs? For those people who already have an 8200/8300 board, that's the important thing to know. Anyways, i don't know about you but when i think oem, i don't think of dedicated GP...

If i remember correctly, Mike, you review of hybrid power a while back said the card didn't actually turn off and was still drawing power. Is it from this conclusion that you say it isn't worth it? Perhaps that's not the way it was supposed to behave in the first place. I read on Legit Reviews they ...

Okay Aris, i saw in another thread you went with the 220W delta adaptor made for dell with the 8 pin connector. I'm thinking it'd be safer that i don't merge those into only two cables and risk melting it with the current. I'd like to know what the female connector would have to be like? Is it like ...

Well, this build is out of leftovers i had so i can't just go buy a cpu and 2.5 HDDs. Actually i do have 2.5 HDDs laying around but that wont get me there. And no, i'm not pulling the vga out of it, i'd have no use for it cause it's not powerful enough for my main desktop. I could always leave a reg...

Actually, in desktop configuration, the psu fan of the minuet is vertical. In tower configuration on its left side (its anatomic left), the fan is horizontal. And neither these configurations made it noisy, but when laying on it's right side, the fan would make a noise. So from laying on the left to...

i found the "mCubed HFX Mini External PSU 165W EF16" which seems to have a connector that would match. Don't know what it's volt and amp output is though. And it's quite costly, and haven't found it anywhere in north america.

I'm talking about the voltage regulation things that are right above the CPU slots. Those are the ones responsible for providing power to the CPU and they are the ones that are taxed when you overclock. In my case, i found that the rams were not defective because tested on another machine fine, but ...

run a memtest86+ It happened to me and i found errors with memtest86+. In my case, after i changed ram from OCZ to corsair, it worked again. But the thing is it worked with the OCZ in the beginning, so i suppose the hardware just got bad because of overclock. I suspected the VRM to be bad as they al...

Okay, i took the heatsinks off. Turns out they were using thermal tape. No wonder the temps were crappy. Just that now, i don't think i can replace it with arctic silver 5 because the pushpins wont hold it strong enough. Perhaps replace it with bolt-through? Would have to go get bolts and screws and...
