HDD drawers may make the noise from a hdd worse as it is akin to hard mounting them and adding a 40mm fan that duns at full speed. If you are concerned about silence, steer clear of them. However, if you swap hdds a bit or have stuff on hdds that does not need to be accessed all the time, these are ...

Motherboard thumb screws do not exist. The closest that you will get a is a screwless motherboard fixing solution in Theramltake Xaser Wingo cases that uses a special extra tall stand-off that you hook the board over and a plastic pin that locks the board in place. Compared to the normal stand-off/s...

The main reason for this is that the original ATX PSU spec specified alot more current capacity on the 5V rail than cur...

I have a Vantec Aero Socket A cooler thats effecient enough to cool an Athlon XP 2600+ running at 2Ghz at around 34degrees full load.

It comes with a 74mm TMD fan (40+dB at max....yikes!), but you could safely run it either without a fan or with a generic 70mm fan set at 5V or even 7V.

If the airflow inside the case is not organised, then hotspots will develop and having big fans on high will meke no difference.

Pictures will help as those looking can spot potiental problems right away.

You can reactivate and keep the same licence.

Just say that "your hdd crashed and you are having to reinstall windows while your data is being recovered on to cdrs"

Microsoft can't argue with that (I think the cdrs bit is genius).

You could try a little ducting to help the north bridge problem.

Wouldnt the SE be enough?
