http://www.thermalright.com/a_newimages/HR-03-New-pic.jpg With one of these above and one below the graphics cards, you could use passive SLi on a motherboard that doesnt have two slots between the cards (their example above does). And there'd definitely be no problem plugging in the SLi bridge eit...

Ok, the specs for your case say 7 exposed 5.25" bays, so unless you have a lot of optical drives you will be fine- the Zalman fan controller only takes up one of them. It's only about 2.5" deep, not including the cables, so there's space behind it if you're suspending your HDDs in the same bays. Hop...

Hmm... sounds like it could be case vibrations being caused by your HDD. That would explain why it occurs during gaming, but not under CPUBurn or similar tools- they dont really use the HDDs once they're loaded. WoW will be constantly cache-ing and streaming data to and from your HDD as you play. Th...

That depends on what the warranty is worth to you  Unless you're getting performance issues, it's almost certainly a bad idea- there will be fiddly wires and connections running between the two PCBs that were lined up by robots with a hundred pairs of hands- it doesn't sound like fun! ...

You can do a clean install of the upgrade disc, I believe you need an original code to activate it though. School/college networks are a goldmine- usually, every PC is licensed for 98SE, but they tend to run a multi-license copy of XP instead and never need their own codes... Other than that,...

That's pretty standard, to be honest- think about what would happen if a package went missing on its way to you? Newegg wouldn't expect you to pay for it, they'd cover the loss themselves (either out of pocket or through insurance). Never in a million years will a company give a refund/replacement f...

Incidentally, Vista RC-1 has S3 Suspend-to-RAM as the default shut down option in the start menu- I thought I'd turned off my PC, then it 'Started Up' in about a second and I started to get confused... :?: Took me a while to work out what was happening. The rubber standoffs are quite hard, and don't do much for vibrations when mounted underneath- they work best on the side of the cooler, as they bend a lot easier than they compress. The Zalman is more about cooling than silencing, and it does a reasonable job with very little airflow. Most people h...

Hmm... I reckon that if you opened up the pci blanks at the back of the case, and mounted a nice quiet 120mm fan across the front of the GPUs, then you could duct off your SLi setup, exhaust the hot air out the back of the case, and run the whole thing surprisingly quietly. Well, quiet for an SLi ri...

Hmm... they look like the same sort of thing that Dell uses, ducted to intake over the CPU and blow out the back of the case. You could probably use them on your case floor, to intake from below the case and to blow fresh air over your HDDs, but that's assuming that you don't have/want a front intak...

Ok, so in that case you should set the fan speed so that Asus Probe says it's off, and then actually look inside the PSU to check if the fan is indeed stopped. As I said, some programs can't measure RPMs if they're too low (or if the fans can't report the RPM correctly, again because it's expecting ...

Doubt it- you'd be better off with proper heatpipes instead of metal bars. The copper pipes work well because the liquid inside them carries the heat, not the copper itself (it does a little, but not compared to the liquid). Copper is only used because it's more effective than other metals to transf...

I knew someone would ask that... With the stock heatsink, speedfan reported 70 degrees, and very rarely changed from that +-1 degree. With the Zalman, I doubt that it was even touching the chip, but speedfan reported between 69 and 70 degrees, and there was no change from adding a very slow-r...

Are there vents in the top of that case? If not I think you'll be blowing warm air throughout the rest of your case, and that wont help with HDD temps. If you ventilate the roof of the case, and have the fans suck the air out, you should get some good airflow through the case. The rear fan would nee...

And for the Northbridge, you could try one of these if you can find it.
Should just miss the graphics card.
I'll second the suggestion of a VF900 for the GPU as well, it comes with a FanMate 2 as well so you can make sure it's silent.

xilencer- the heatpipes are ~2cm circumference, and ~15cm long. With 11 pipes, that equates to 330cm2. Granted, it's not a massive amount of space, but it does make a difference on the temperatures, especially with a little airflow over it (between 5 and 10 degrees on my Maxtors). I would rather not...
