I think its probably because Haswell isn't a major change from Ivy Bridge, Intel call Haswell a tock so there isn't as many changes as when going to new a architecture.

Probably not a good idea to use white spirits to clean goop as it is oil based and may leave behind a residue that will inhibit the newly applied goop.
Best to use a proper cleaner designed for goop cleaning or just buy some isopropyl alcohol.

Your stressed load power is < 350W..and probably < 275W while gaming. If the aftermarket HS can take 120mm or is passive then i agree you cant beat them with even the best manufactures HS, when not under load i think most modern GPU's underclock/undervolt a lot so they don't need much cooling.
