You mentioned bulging caps so I would guess that that's the origin of the problems. You can try finding new caps with the same specs and replace them yourself. Might be a much cheaper option.

it's between the Scythe Ultra Kaze(1000rpm version), or the NMB-MAT(Panaflo) 1700rpm L1BX version. i would vote Ultra Kaze. from the same company that gave us Slipstream and S-Flex, I expect very good things, like you say bearing noise is unavoidable with L1BX as it is ball-bearing. Luck plays a bi...

4W per channel=bad

Not true auto adjust (uses hard coded profile)=bad

Has same view angle problem as Zalman MFC-2=bad

Eats 2 bays and only gives 5 fan control = WTF were they thinking.

All in all poor value for money and simply badly designed.

That, is a lot of porn. I managed to find a direct reseller of WD drives here in Vancouver. I bought two of the 1TB drives a few months ago for $250, and then the other eight (2x500gb, 6x1TB) for a total of $800 just a month ago. It sounds like a lot of money, but when you're looking at what you're ...

I like S-flexes that has magnetics too. They're really quiet and I believe Noctua has some sort of magnetic too. They're quiet no bearing sound and fain motor sound. Noctua's weakest link is blade design. I'd say magnetic bearings are atleast worth of trying $9 S-Flex use fluid dynamic bearing. Noc...

I wonder about the pressure of these things. The coverage of the blade suggest decent pressure. The design looks interesting as they have vortex notches like the noctuas.

From what I have read so far what cases like P18X's need are really just the foams to absorb and down tone the sound. The panels themselves are thick enough not to vibrate. The best specialised foam (thin, dense, but still foam) for cases would then be Acustipacks. Akasa's from what I read so far ap...

I think you might not have needed to go through all that if you did what Exel and I did which is taping up the PSU chamber holes. My VC was 35C before I added the fan which many here would say is more then good enough. The fan I added was more for helping the PSU.

Nobody really knows what's going on. There's a theory that the 38xx and 48xx series were developed by two different teams at the same time, instead of the 48xx being a progression over the 38xx. Time will tell if it's possible to lower idle power consumption. Modded BIOS files to downclock the card...

Plus I consider the ability to set speed with rpm a very nice feature. Hence if your fan differs from this fan, the RPM you set and the RPM y...
