The 4th pic in the 4th page of the SPCR review shows it from the inside
If you look at the 3rd pic on the 1st page, you can see how Antec slotted the rear of the case to allow the PSU to be attached upside down

Nice job! I'm sure my effort will be a bit more ghetto :? That's basically what I was planning except that I'll experiment with an exhaust fan as well, running at the same speed as the CPU cooler fan to see if the negative pressure that is developed will allow the 2 fans to run slower than a single ...

My Ninja has a fan mounted on it, and also a duct to channel the hot air directly out the back. This arrangement has some advantages: the fan can be very slow because the Ninja is so efficient, the fan noise is muffled because it's about 6 inches from the back of the case, and the overall system te...

From the reviews it looks like the HSK3840 is a better quality case than the HSK4480. I thought they seemed pretty much the same aside from the upper chamber in the 3840. I think the choice between the 2 would come down to if you had few and small enough components to fit in the 3480. The 3480 woul...

Just to put the concept in context, remember that the intent of the duct is mainly to prevent the PSU drawing in hot air from the HSF. It just seemed that from some of the previous comments that the closely spaced fins of the Ultra 120 might not work so well with just a duct, given the duct wall bou...

I was thinking that I might daisy chain 2 Artic cooling PWM fans - one as the case extract and one as a push though fan on the Ultra 120 with the exhaust fan linked to the other side of the Ultra 120 by the duct. Then the push through fan would be assisted in getting air through the close spaced fin...

Higher voltage usually just means the memory can be overclocked further or has a higher native speed. Some memory with higher than standard voltage will not even allow a system post if the voltage is not raised above standard (meaning you need to use 'normal' memory first to set the higher voltage b...

Thanks. I guess I'll get the Ultra 120 extreme and fashion my own ducting. Too bad the HR-01 Plus no longer has the duct as it would have been a very direct path with my case and m/b. It'll be interesting to see how well the Ultra 120 extreme works with just a case a exhaust fan + duct. If it works ...

HR-01 Plus or Ultra 120 extreme (or Ninja?) for ducted use?
If I were to fashion a duct to channel air directly from the heatsink to the rear exhaust fan, which do you think is likely to be the most suitable? The older HR-01 came with a duct for this purpose but the new Plus version no longer comes with one but has fan mounts instead so ThermalRight seem to ...

I was hoping that I could use a fan controlled by the CPU header as the case exhaust fan so that this could run at very low speed when the CPU is lightly loaded and then ramp up for high loadings/overclocking. The duct would help prevent heat from the CPU being drawn into the PSU, keeping that quiet...

Thermalright HR-01 Plus - no duct??
Have Thermalright abandoned the HS duct with the Plus version of the HR-01? Their website makes no mention of the duct with this newer version and the install notes describe how to mount a 120mm fan to the HS. I thought the HR-01 heatsinks were for passive cooling and the Ultra 120 heatsinks w...

The other thing besides power lines is the generators. They need to supply the reactive power as well as the active power, While the reactive power doesn't require power input on the generator's shaft, it does require the current to flow through the generator windings. This means the generators need...

Re: E4300 and undervolting an overclock
What does happen if I set it too low? I'm going incrementally, so will Orthos fail if the voltage is too low? Yep. I've undervolted my E4300 (stock speed) to 0.9875V for normal use and can't go lower without Orthos test failures within 12 hours. I have a separate bios setting saved for my overclock...

Slow fans running at minimum voltage will drop the tach signal out of the monitor's reach. Same thing will happen with Noctuas if you ever try it. My Akasa has a fit every time I try to reduce voltage to minimum, as it only sees 0 RPM and thinks the fan has just died. Yep, I disabled the alarm in m...

The CM 430W eXtreme is very quiet at low power (most non-gaming) outputs. There are varying reports on the noise level of the iGreen 500W PSU and it seems that 2 fans are used with models having one fan being quiet and the other being noisy. I haven't heard much about the noise level of the 430W or ...
