How do you know that, without opening the PSU? It's pretty obvious that a fanless PSU can feel cooler since there's no fan that blows the hot air out of the case. It's just like putting the hand against the exhaust fan on a computer case, you feel hot air coming out. If you stop the fan then you do...

I wasn't talking about fanless PSU's, but since you're asking I might as well give you an answer. The pros and cons of using a fanless PSU have been discussed many times here at SPCR. I see no advantage of using a fanless if the fanless model cost more than the one with a fan, and I can't hear the ...

High efficiency doesn't equal silence. There are lots of PSU's that delivers both high efficiency and noise. And then there are PSU's like the Nexus Value 430 , which is not one of the most efficient models, but still the most quiet PSU with a fan tested at SPCR. Just curious ... why bother with th...

Looking for some opinion/advice.
I have both and the AcoustiPack is a tad better as it is denser (and heavier).

@elpibe10: Do you know/think it's possible to cool a GTX285 (eVGA SC) with one 120mm Feser using two fans in push/pull(ie Noctua or Scythe low RPM)? Yes you can but the load temp won't be nice. I'd recommend a 2x120mm radiator for the job. The problem isn't just with the airflow, another important ...

At least a 240. Feser would be an ideal low airflow, low noise choice 3) What size and brand radiator would ...

I have both the HR-03 GT and GTX and I can confirm that the GT won't fit due to the larger size of the GTX gpu as well as the greater distance between the 4 mounting holes. IMO, the stock cooler works well enough (if you don't mind seeing 70+ deg C on load) as it practically doesn't pass on any heat...

Are you sure the buzzing is from the PSU ?

Also, are you using any inverter in your house (eg. Inverter aircon, refrigerator, etc.) ? A modified square wave inverter (instead of true sine wave ones) will cause buzzing on practically every brand of PSU.

And if you're going to install 3rd party hsf that doesn't use push-pin (eg. Thermalright, Noctua, etc), you can forget about the Intel G45 mini ITX boards. They have a chip on the bottom of the board near one of the mounting holes that makes it impossible to install most heatsinks with a mounting br...

They're not the exactly same. The bearing is the same but the frame is improved. It is double-ribbed just like the S-Flex.

I'm using a couple of the 1000rpm Kama Flex on my Feser radiator and they are excellent fans.

I agree that in recent times their heatsinks have been underachieving a bit, but indeed, the mugen 2 seems to be a top notch product. It`s not fair to compare the ninja to the hr 01 in my opinion. The ninja can cool effectively with less airflow than either the thermalright or noctua. The extra fin...

Thermalright HR-01 Plus pwns the Ninja. 3-4c difference between the 2 isnt exactly pwnage. Its an improvement, but both Heatsinks are able to cool a quad core passively, what more do you need? The Ninja isnt class-leading, but its still a very impressive performer and a good choice for any SPCR'er....

The exterior looks like some cheapo case that's available everywhere.

Internally, it looks really ordinary.

Scythe is quickly becoming a jack of all trade and a master of none. Even their previously coveted heat sinks are now just mediocre performers.
