My latest build may be worth a look for you. It's not the most powerful, but it seems to do very well in everything I've asked of it and runs extremely quiet and cool.
Although the Prescott chips run really hot, I don't think you'll have an issue with the Minja in that case. I am running mine without a fan directly attached to it, but if you look in the picture, I have made a duct to help with airflow through the cooler. I am running an E4500 under my Minja. http:...
I have a Ninja 2 on a Phenom x3 (8450 - 2.1Ghz) and when I ran it passively, it would reach into the 60's (before I stopped the stress test) while stressing it. I originally thought that it wasn't seated well, but when I went to take off the heat sink, it was hot. Since the heat sink was transferrin...
I'm upgrading my setup and have a few parts for sale. I have for sale: - Lapped E6750 (comes in original box with unused stock HSF) - $120 - Lapped TRUE (original box, ALL parts included) - $50 - MSI P6N Diamond (nearly new comes with EVERYTHING) - $110 Just post if interested. I can take pictures ...
please link to the adapter. Does it require resoldering, or can everything be screwed or linked using standard connectors? thanks. http://www.coolerguys.com/32pa.html The one you want is marked with a "D". The idea of the connector is that you do not have to solder. Just connect and you're done.
How difficult is the fan swap in the stock PSU? Does it void the warranty? What speed/model Scythe fan should it be replaced with? Thank you. It is actually VERY easy to swap. If you buy an adapter for the fan to fit the PSU (I can link you if you need), then it is really simple. It WILL void the w...
I have an NSK-3480 and it is my quietest case (I build them all quiet). Aside from the PSU fan (swapped Scythe 80mm from MINJA), I only have one 1,000 RPM Scythe 120mm SlipStream in the case (controlled by motherboard). I have no experience with the other case, however, I have no complaintes about t...
I looks nice. The only things I would sugges is maybe getting and extension for the CPU power to route it out of the way (I'm picky) and tie the stretch magic nots on the bottom of the case and cut the excess off.
Personally, I like it better than the TRUE in my other computer. I'm running one with just a single fan for the entire case (not counting PSU) and my CPU stays pretty cool and much more quiet than my quiet P180B and NSK-2480 setups. http://hosting.superhighoutput.com/yamahasho/Computer/AMD/IMG_7833....

That's a little on the hot side. In the same case, my E4500 tops out at 51C and the 9600GT with stock cooler gets about 60ish C. Yes, but you have two fans that run faster than the S-FLEX D (this is the 800rpm version). The higher temps with just one fan are consistent with the SPRC review. Yes, I ...
As the socket is AM2 I'm not quite sure how the bolt though kit should be used, but I can say that the Minja is very well seated. I had some minor problems because of the tension needed attach the cooler properly. Sorry, I wasn't thinking... Temps after 40 mins of video playback. What about a stres...
The only things I would suggest (from experience) is: - Swapping the 80mm fan from the PSU with the one that came with the Minja. - Suspend a laptop HDD instead of a standard 3.5" drive (best thin I ever did for this case). - Use an undervolted 1,000 or 1,200 RPM SlipStream as your fan. - Use a Ther...
Hmm, fanless in a P180 mini? I have a P180 Mini with a Core 2 Duo OCed from 2.4 to 3.2 and with just the big exhaust fan on and a Nexus 120 on the Scythe (original revision), my temps are around 60C Idle on Core Temp :/ Not the same case, but a duct made a world of difference with my setup. I only ...
I hear the Volume knob on the Fusion is buggy. Personally, I would go with the NSK-2480 (the one without the volume knob). It can be made VERY quiet and cool. You can easily suspend some laptop HDD's in the HDD bay and you won't hear them (at least I don't hear mine). Here is my build... http://www....
I am using Full ATX version of the motherboard. I get pretty much similar temps than you get. SB is definately warmer than my NB, which is merely warm to touch. I didn't know they made an ATX version of this board. I'm told on AVS forum (on the official GIGABYTE GA-MA78GM-S2H thread) that the 110C ...
I noticed it wasn't down super tight, but the heat sink gets hot... So it's absorbing the heat. I don't really knock around in there, so I'm not that worried about it.
Well, I received my Ninja 2 and installed it. I am still waiting on the adapter to be able to easily swap my 80mm Scythe fan into the PSU (although the PSU is pretty quiet), but I am not done. I have some more wire clean up to do and I'm going to put down some sound deadening material (the cheap stu...
The fiance and I moved into a new house and we are both tired of using a laptop all the time (or the HTPC's for work), so I got the okay to build yet another computer. You guys may have seen my two HTPC's, but if not I do have a P180B and NSK-2480 build on this forum. This is my first AMD build as I...
I've got two LG combo drives (HD DVD/BD) and when they're playing a movie, I can't hear them. They are louder when spinning up for data, but compared to some of the other drives I've had, it's still pretty quiet. I do have a Lite-On BD drive sitting unopened (since March) and will finally put it to ...
