Unfortunately, there were no such setting. I did, however, notice that my power supply had some separate thin cables for fans, so i went with that. The fan seems to be spinning really slow anyway (my 800rpm noctua in this case), but it doesn't make any ticking noise or similar, so it doesn't matter.

It's not a PWM fan, and it runs as it should if i plug it into a non-PWM connector. It may be that sys_fan2 tries to do something with the fan... I had hoped that it would work, seeing as cpu_fan is a pwm connector too but works fine. Meh... I may have to resort to using molex. =/

New fan installed. But...

Yeah, so i installed a 800 rpm slipstream i my computer, and it makes this anoying ticking noise. Turns out that it spins in ~400 rpm for some reason. I plugged it into a "PWR_FAN" connector on my ga-p35-ds3. Can't find any strange setting in the bios. Anyone have any ideas on why it spins at half s...

I found this samsung drive called F2 HD103SI. It's supposed to be a 1TB 5400rpm drive on two platters. Sounds really good as a storage unit. On that note, how big difference is it between 7200rpm and 5400rpm drives? Could I, say, watch some ultra high-tech format movie from a 5400rpm drive without a...

If you check comments on the news of this card most of them are laughing that it's impossible, going to fry etc. apparently not knowing how bad the stock cooler really is, despite being active. It is more likely to fry with the stock cooler. The S1 Accelero without any fans attached to it about hal...

I also noticed that cpu-z displays the same values for a range of bios Vcore settings, why is that? Nice, 1.10000V! When i chose that setting it died a few seconds after windows started. =/ Edit: Hmm. It looks like 1.10625V was to little or something random made my system crash. Anyhow, increased vo...

The lowest step i can pick with my E8400 at stock speed(9 x ~333.3) in the BIOS is 1.10625V.
CPU-Z shows 1.072V in idle and 1.056V during load.

what is my cpu doing?

According to CPU-Z, my E8400 is constantly changing its multiplier, why is that?
At first i thought it was this speedstep i've heard about, but from what i can see, it's turned off... and even if it was on, why would it then up the multiplier in idle(and down it ad infinitum)?
