P-150: Front USB connectors

I just got my P-150 up and running and have a problem with the front USB connector. My motherboard has a different pin configuration and I wonder if there is an adaptor available or whether I can move the wires around within the plastic plug. I thought about switching the whole thing to one which ha...

I was looking for this very thing yesterday to isolate my fans with cable ties (zip ties to the Americans). I ended up getting the same thing I got for my other system, some rubber sealing rings from the plumbing dept. They're a little on the hard side but they seem to work fine in my other system s...

I have the Etymotic ER-4P and they are really great. Take a bit of getting used to, particularly when out walking. In fact, they're TOO good for being out walking as you can't hear ANYTHING and, despite the fact that I thought that I would like that, it's actually a little spooky. The cable is micro...

Kustom PCs couldn't get them in and Komplett nl and be wouldn't ship to lu. I ordered a couple of the 250 gig ones from www.e-bug.de (but what a nightmare of an order process. Sheesh. Emergency purchases only)

Thanks for bringing these drives to my attention Tibors. Much obliged to you.

I have an XP-120 on a 3500+ Winchester with a Nexus 120mm fan at the lowest fanmate setting, whatever that is. I've overclocked to 220 FSB @ 11 so am at 2.42GHz. Temps under load are around 40ºC. It is a bugger to put on and remove though. I almost put a screwdriver right through the motherboard try...

The rear fan is an exhaust fan and sucks the air out of the case. The front is the intake.

Since you say that your system runs cool and you have only one HDD, you could most likely unplug the front intake fan all together. It doesn't get much quieter than that!

Thanks Kizz. Just wondering, does the cache size make a difference? Both the Samsung and WD large-capacity drives on overclockers are 8MB. Should I be looking for a 16 meg one, or would it make no difference for a server?

Keep in mind, the remote desktop server is only avialable under XP-Pro, and it doesn't allow you to standby/restart/shut-down the remote machine. Try realVNC or something similar. One workaround to this is the 'shutdown' console command in Windows. I use this occasionally when doing maintenance on ...

What large-capacity HDD for file server?

I'm looking for two large capacity drives for a file server which is going to be a recycled, sound-dampened GMC NeoClassic case. I would only need one optical drive so that would leave three IDE channels spare, one for OS and two for DATA. How would the master/slave thing best be configured?
